Excerpt from Taliea's Journal found washed up on the shore of lower La Noscea:

Day 3

It's been three days since I left my mother screaming at me from the portal of the refuse she called home. Her voice still rings in my ears at night when I try to fall asleep.

Today the captain came around and was checking his roster to ensure he had the right people on board. I guess the Roegadyn who was taking a head count was new and got flustered. As he came down the line asking us all our names I felt like time slowed. My life thus far flashed in quick succession in my head and I knew I had but a moment to choose.

I'd walked away from the revolving door of men, of rumors, of dirty expectations. I'd walked away from the legacy of life long opiate use; opiate addiction I'm still struggling with. My mother swore she'd never allow my sisters to see a single Gil of the money I sent to assist in their education. As the captain of the ship walked down the line I knew I had one chance to rewrite my story; to recreate myself as someone new and whole.

I took it.

As he turned to walk away I caught a glimpse of the roster with its scribbles and caught sight of my new name.

As of today I'm Taliea Sagewhisper.

Appearance

Taliea stands barely five feet tall. Her most redeeming features are her eyes and freckles. She enjoys reinventing her look but keeps her hair short while changing the highlights frequently to match any enchanted or imbued armor.

History

Little is known about the shy and quiet Miqo'te's past. She's tight lipped about her life growing up and is careful not to leave any evidence about who she is that others might follow up on. It's as if she was born on the shores of Eorzea. She worked hard to be accepted as a Limsa Lominsan citizen. The yellow jackets, when questioned, will only say that she had a private meeting with Merlwyb when the question of her birth papers came up as she swore in. What occurred in that meeting no one knows but Taliea and Merlwyb herself.

Personality

Taliea is said to be shy, quiet and introverted but those who know her best would argue that she's not shy but introspective and keenly aware of the goings on around her. She's often able to discern things about others simply by letting them talk and reveal their secrets.

Her enemies, those that have lived long enough to be interviewed, describe an entirely different side of her. One Garlean soldier recounted that she was "like a whirlwind of sheer power that exploded into a shining ball of pure energy."
