Haunted by her memories of war and by the knowledge that anyone she has ever known or loved has either forgotten her, been forgotten by her, or both Talvi has embarked on a wandering journey to rediscover who she is and what her place will be in a strange new world.

Appearance

Talvi is short, small, and slender. While she often covers herself in loose flowing mage robe she has been know to wear more flashy outfits from time to time. Talvi's short stature, small frame, and round face with large eyes often causes people to assume that she is much younger than her already young age. Talvi tries to compensate for this by wearing dark face paint around her eyes, the effect varies in success depending on the person looking at her.

History

6th Astral Era

• 1555: Talvi is born on the 32nd Sun of the 2nd Astral Moon. Her parents are Palvata Noita a conjurer and Susi'a Surmata an archer. Born and raised in The Black Shroud Talvi is taught to revere nature and the spirits. She however finds she has little talent for the skills her parents try to teach her. She lacks the strength to draw a bow reliably and quickly and is at best a mediocre healer.

• 1562: A seven year old Talvi wakes up in the middle of the night frighted by a dream of falling. While this event seems unimportant this dream is a dream of the events that were happening at that moment at Silvertear Falls. The Echo has awakened within Talvi as with several others around Eorzea.

• 1570: At the age of 15 Talvi leaves her home in The Black Shroud to find her place in the world. Stopping first in Gridania she first tries and fails to improve her skills as a conjurer and archer. While her skills as a conjurer were sorely lacking her time spent trying to increase her skills also introduced her to botany.
  • 1570: Talvi leaves Gridania for Ul'dah loaded down with herbs and botany tools. Hoping to join the Alchemy Guild in the merchant city Talvi runs into an older Mi'qote merchant named Kissa Kotele who takes her under her wing and shows her the city. While in Ul'dah Talvi discovers not only a talent for alchemy but a great untapped strength for Thamaturgy and Black Magic.

• 1571: Nael van Darnus and the VIIth Legion invade Eorzea. Talvi leaves Ul'dah for Limsa Lominsa so that she can put the maximum distance between herself and the front-lines.

• 1572: While in Limsa Talvi joins the Maelstrom and a group of adventurers fighting back against Garlemald. This group of adventurers is soon joined my many others from across Eorzea.
  • 1572: A small group of adventurers leave to take out Nael van Darnus. A sixteen year old Talvi is left behind which upsets her. She pours herself into learning stronger Black Magic eventually giving up food and sleep at times to keep reading spell books and to practice spells.
  • 1572: Now seventeen and unwilling to be left behind Talvi travels to Carteneau to participate in the battle there. During the battle Talvi goes the mage equivalent of berserk casting spells almost at random into the enemy ranks enjoying their cries of anguish as they roast in their armor. However, Talvi is brought back to her senses when Bahamut breaks free and rains fire and death down on the battlefield. Paralyzed by fear Talvi can only stand beneath the monstrous dragon primal as everything goes white.

7th Umbral Era

• 1577: Talvi awakens five years later still seventeen. At first Talvi believes she is dead, but as she slowly regains her sense she realizes she not only isn't dead but is far from the battle and any danger she was in. Making her way back to Limsa Talvi discovers that five years have passed since the battle and that no one remembers her, not that she expected to be remembered as just one more face in a crowd of adventurers. Ashamed by her loss of control during the battle Talvi takes up blacksmithing and tries to put magic and her past behind her. While in Limsa her eighteenth birthday comes and goes uncelebrated.

Personality

Talvi is a shy and kind young woman who tries to do everything she can to make those around her happy. She is friendly despite her shyness and likes being around people even if she sometimes doesn't say much when around them. But burred under her shy and friendly exterior is a powerful mage that is constantly thirsting for more knowledge and power. In combat Talvi is almost the exact opposite of her usual self, she is aggressive, violent, and more than a little sadistic adhering to the motto there is no kill like overkill. It is this side of herself that causes Talvi to go out of her way to try and be nice and kind and make people happy as a kind of self impose penance due to the shame and remorse she feels after the rush of battle is behind her.
