Character

General

This young Keeper makes her home in Thanalan. A small camp tucked up into the rocky terrain away from the roads, granting her some protection from thieves and angry wildlife. Despite her lack of city living, she seems sociable enough, albeit prone to approaching others in non-conventional ways.

Appearance

Tefh may not be a perfumed, powdered lady, but she's hardly unclean these days. When not at work with something guaranteed to make a mess of her, she takes the time to wash off any residue related to living outdoors. Clothing and body alike, she offers a cleaned presentation to others, unless they catch her shortly after she's done some of the dirtier work.

Black skin and dark gray hair, Tefh is blatantly a Keeper of the Moon. Given that Thanalan serves as her home, she's usually easy to spot by others on that simple description alone. Once she kept up on painting half of her face white, in honor of the phase of the moon she was born under, but now she's taken to only doing so for special occasions. Even the bindi she once sported is only applied in those special circumstances.

Despite her occupation, Tefh is entirely lacking in scars. Not a single line on her hands from accidents with her tools. That isn't to say her skin is pampered; she still possesses the calloused palms of a crafter, the knuckles of a fighter, and the soles of someone who's often barefoot. Her build is what one might come to expect of someone living as Tefh does; toned, with slight definition of her muscles, yet slender from her inconsistent diet.

Like some Keepers of the Moon, Tefh sports some more canine features than feline ones; a shorter, fluffier tail, distinct canines (though somewhat blunt from heavy use) and a set of short talons for nails. Short, but sturdy enough to make for a reasonable weapon.

Behavior

Some have called Tefh a dog, or a feral beast. Others look at her and treat her like she's someone's misplaced pet. These assessments haven't gone unearned. It's her habit to bark when alarmed, whine in a canine manner when distressed, wagging her tail when happy- you see where this is going. Her feral habits have lessened substantially over time, and the 'wild' aspects of her social habits have been almost entirely smothered. She no longer bites people upsetting her, but she maintains the less harmful aspects of her nature. All in all, she's more like a puppy than a wolf as of late, but the damage from her vicious cycle has been done.

Though eager to speak to people and always wanting to listen and socialize, Tefh is not the greatest at putting her own thoughts into words. Often she has to stop people to ask them what the words they're saying mean, and if the person should prove patient, she'll ask for the spelling and write it down in a notepad she keeps on her person at nearly all times. It may take her a few attempts, but she has a genuine interest in letting others know her heart and mind. As she's expanding her vocabulary, it's turning out she has quite a lot to say.

Earlier implied, Tefh shows many of her emotions in very dog-like ways. Her ears and tail, if one knows what to look for, will be a dead giveaway as to what she's feeling, and often times what she's thinking. Not all are able to pick up on these signs, and still require facial expressions to truly understand what she's going on about. Obliging this key part of social interaction, Tefh tries to remember to include expressions when speaking. She's become practiced enough with it that it looks natural most times, genuine, but at the end of the day it isn't her first impulse. Any smile or frown she puts on is the result of conscious effort, not habit.
