Guard, Soldier, and Investigator Thibault Colville is a name those in the Brass Blades and Immortal Flames may have heard of, mostly due to his family name. The name Colville is legendary in the city of Ul’dah, and the day that Thibault was born he was thrust into such a family. His father, a Colonel in the Immortal Flames and Captain in the Brass Blades had seemed to have been cursed. That or the man with his wife, Juliana who worked in the Sultansworn just had the right combination to birth boys. Thibault was the third born son out of five and like his brothers before him was raised to do one thing, and one thing only. Serve Ul’dah to the best of his ability and give his life if needed. The Colville House had once been a trader family and was quite wealthy until François, Thibault’s father took over and turned it into a basic training manor house. Every day after Thibault turned 5 he trained with blade, shield, lance, and claymore. His education was non-existent except with the ideals of Loyalty, Honor, Integrity, and Service. Those four principles and constant preparation turned Thibault into a walking soldier by the time he was 12.
At this point his father placed him as a squire for a Sultansworn Knight whom Juliana worked with. The Knight taught Thibault even more about swordplay and also put him into to mock battles with other Sultansworn trainees and squires. Thibault excelled in this training, and continued learning everything he could from the man up until his 16th birthday. At this time, Thibault enlisted with the Brass Blades to begin his service to Ul’dah. Like his two older brothers he was welcomed with a mixture of acceptance and watchfulness. It was no secret that the Blades weren’t the most loyal of men and that the Consortium had their hands all over the organization. The Colville family was a real threat to those men and woman and as such Thibault being the only Colville in the Blades was treated as an outcast. He had his own squad however and they were close which is all that matters in the end. Three years of service came and gone and Thibault had consistently outperformed, and outshined his peers. It was at this point he was offered a position as a Private within the Immortal Flames. Thibault jumped at the opportunity and felt like this was where he was supposed to stay, the Flames welcomed him with open arms and with the Colville name becoming well known due to the actions of the five brothers, the last two who had just joined the Brass Blades. They were famous for the pure loyalty to Ul’dah, integrity to stay away from corruption and even root it out, and the honor they brought to themselves, Ul’dah, and the Immortal Flames. The brothers rose through the ranks quickly, but Thibault had an eye for criminals and while in the Flames he was placed on a special team that ran special operations within the city to arrest high level targets or dangerous targets. The team worked directly with the Sultansworn in these operations and Thibault showed that -this- was what he was meant to do. He had a mind for criminals, this combined with his unshakable integrity made him perfect for his new assignment. Thibault was given the rank of ‘Uldah Investigator’ which meant that due to his background with both the Immortal Flames, and Brass Blades he was placed into a Task Force simply named Intelligence which was tasked with taking various cases of importance and using the resourced of the Brass Blades, and Flames to bring the target to justice. Excited at the prospect of joining this unit Thibault is preparing to being in earnest and starts seeking resourced to help him with this new task, and a partner.
Thibault is a strongly built young man, at the age of 21 he stands at 5’7” and weighs in at about 160 without armor. His hair is a light brown color with a dark blond intermixed at the front and top. He doesn’t do anything fancy to his hair and keeps it short and standard for his profession. He is clean shaven though to those that examine his closely it doesn’t truly look like he needs to as his skin is smooth even on his arms and legs. His eyes are a dark emerald green that swirls a bit in the shadows. Having trained his entire life with weapons and exercise Thibault is well toned yet not as musculature as one would expect. He is solid, rock solid but his muscle is more sinew under the skin and this along with his shorter stature tends to make some underestimate him. If one were to remove his upper and lower clothing they would find that his skin was smooth and soft, very healthy when glanced at, and with his darker tan would glow with youthfulness. He has a face that is easy to forget other than the dimples on either cheek and most would pass him by in a crowded city if he wasn’t wearing his armor. Speaking of his armor, Thibault wears a suit crafted to perfection with blue hues placed into the steel. Along with the armor, the young man also carries a personally crafted Blade fit just for his hand and height.
Aspects That Stand Out:
As a young man who has spent his entire life being trained to become a soldier Thibault was forced to accept that whatever he might have aspired to be once will never come to pass. He is very intelligent with a great mind for tactical movements. He is loyal to a fault to the city of Ul’dah and his family and would do anything, even give his life to ensure its continued success. Along with his loyalty comes an unwavering integrity which has been ingrained into him since he was a small boy. Honor also is a huge drive for the 21-year-old, and he conducts his profession with professionalism and respect to all those that he encounters. His troubles begin when he’s not on duty, where he struggles with his own identity, and the lack of any sort of affection growing up. He has trouble forming relationships with anyone as he’s never really had to worry about that. Thibault has a soft spot for any child in distress and will make silly decisions to try and save one.
