Akanea Tenryu

When he was a small child around 6-7, his parents and he were traveling on a vessel on the way to Aleport, to do some business in the Western La Noscea region, when they were set upon by pirates. During the chaos, Akanea's mother placed him below deck and began to stack cargo and boxes around him to try and keep him hidden and safe. Upstairs you could hear the battle go on as the blades clashed and blood hit the wood of the ship. The Maelstrom were ill equipped for the sheer number of brigands that boarded their ship. Although well fought, they eventually were slaughtered along with his father trying to protect the other passengers. Hugging his knees, the boy didn't dare move, too shaken to even fathom what was going on. Moments go by, nothing. Few minutes, still nothing. Eventually he clamored up over the chests and the barrels only to find bodies all around him. He began to weep as he searched for his family. He climbed the steps up to the deck and saw nothing but blood and gore. There in a bloody lump lain his father, two blades sticking out of his chest among the other bodies. Unable to scream or move, Akanea just stood there and cried. His mother nowhere to be found. Everyone dead around him.

After eventually being found by Aleport dock workers on the abandoned ship, he was brought to Limsa Lominsa where he was placed in the care of a local family that worked far too much to pay attention to him. Unable to adapt to his new life, Akanea eventually ran away and survived by stealing and pickpocketing local dock workers and tourists. There he met another older boy named Jacke who helped him hone his skills in thievery. A few years pass and Jacke wants to start a Rogue guild to make money and help his orphaned friends. Akanea however had no interest in that, only thinking of himself from now on, and soon left on his own journey. He traveled Eorzea studying different skills and battle practices. Fistfighting in Ul'dah; Some basic Archery in Gridania. He slowly honed his skills and became a jack of all trades. Leaving yet again on a journey of self-discovery. He soon began to build a reputation as a mercenary taking odd jobs here and there, just enough work to get by and stay under the radar.
