Character

General

She grew up in the Shroud with a visionnaire Mother that taught her how to be a soul healer. It is a gift granted to the females of the Terra's enabling them to have a high level of empathy towards the others, and to use that gift to help, sooth, heal whoever seek advice from them as well as to be a good listener and advisor to females but to male alike. Eli developed such ability and was starting to be trained more in-depth when the great cataclysm took place. She found herself the last survivor of her tribe and that night, part of her died together with the gift she had. The pain felt was stronger then her desire to help. Since, she wanders Eorzea seeking a way to rebuild her clan. It is not uncommon to find her sit outside of Ulda'h in the camp of the refugees, near the fire, trying new dances or simply relaxing or on top of a cascade, lost in her thoughts when the night is deep.

Appearance

Barely 5"foot, thin, white pale skinned, black hair, dark eyes. Eli got used to dress according to the place she is, so no particular signs will differenciate her from any other Miqo'te found anywhere other then the marks of her clan on her face, thin pale lines on her cheeks

Personality

Strong willed, rude, extremely blunt and straight-forward, honesty, integrity and respect are keywords to her, fail in one of those and she will be quick to dismiss you, no matter if you have been a long lasting friend or not. Not fearing to speak her mind, she rarely uses insulting or swearing words which Eli considers a total lack of respect. Her accent, often then not, is a problem to some though it is probably more understandable then a Limsan Pirate's accent. Many find it hard to approach her as she is rarely smiling, rarely giggling and even more rarely partaking into anything that could potentially place her in danger. Rarely taking sides, she can swiftly react on unfair actions towards whoever, friends or fiends alike, and will not hesitate to stand up for weaker even at her own detrimental. She despises overly whorish slutty attitudes and anything that enters into that category. She is much of an introvert, not speaking if not spoken to, or rarely. Not much tolerant towards lalafels that she considers children and finds it hard to address them as adults. She is not totally at ease among big crowds preferring small groups to wide groups. She likes to take her time to get to know the person she lets close, she likes to know that they are worthy of her friendship, something she is not granting to all and any and whoever wishes to be her friends must be a patient and not fear her rough hedges and stick around long enough to learn of her, something that nowadays nobody seems to want to do, preferring a quick relationship, almost instant rather then working towards one.

History/Timeline

Born in a small camp right outside of Gridania in the Shroud, she grew up in a safe, quiet and happy surroundings. Her mother, Edna, was the councelor of the tribe and the eldest too, by that she should have been the Matriarch of the Tribe, but refused, preferring to dedicate her time to the women and males of the tribe. Eli's mother was a visionair, in her mind, male and female Miqo'te, be it Keepers or Seekers, were both equally important within a tribe and taught Eli this much in her handlings of male keepers. Mostly, the male helped the tribe and seconded the women in their daily lives, even if they were subject to the ruling of the Matriarch and this of other women, they obeyed and did whatever was required for the survival of all, knowing that yes they were mere males but of importance. Eli's mother was a monogamous Miqo'te, her keeper, Vara'a, died during a hunt that went all wrong and since, refused to mate again by that refusing to fulfill her duty and preferring to dedicate her time to her sole daughter, Eli, and the rest of the tribe as a councelor/Soul Healer. The tribe wasn't a big one, each working and striving to ensure that all would have what was necessary to live. Hunting, fishing, taning, were the main source of revenues. The relationships with the Gridanians and the Tribesmen were relatively stable and neutral, each minding their own business and only interacting with each other for occasional trades.

Everything changed the night of the great cataclysm though. Eli was out hunting, it was a normal night, until a huge sound, a bright light, and an explosion and finally a deafening silence. She woke up sick after what seemed forever and rushed towards the camp, upon her arrival, she found only ruins and carbonized bodies. That night, the gift that was hers, this of empathy, was closed away within her and she turned a cold female keeper Miqo'te, with one goal, finding a way to rebuild her clan and therefore starting a search for a male keeper of pure breed.

She roamed the land, went allover, seeking, searching, wandering, talking, for moons, so many moons, on her own, hiding away, surviving as best as she could, and finally arrived in Ulda'h. Keepers male are afraid of being approached, of being identified as such, preferring to lead a free life more close to this of seekers. Eli is spending a lot of her time in the Sand, in the Shroud, in the Thanalan, for her, her search is more an obsession, as she misses much of that life that has gone lost that terrible day. Her cold appearance, her lack of social skills, after so many moons on her own or almost, makes it so that her search turned into the search for a miracle but it is all she has left and intends to fulfill it, not matter how long it will take.
