Maariya Genhu is a young female Miqo'te born and raised in the great city of Ul'dah. She was born to simple folks, craftsmen of the city whom she has lost during an accident outside of the city. A kind and honorable Gladiator took her under his care and then raised her as his own. She learned the ways of the sword and fought in the Ul'dah Arenas until she earned enough Gil to get a place of her own, and start her own life.
Maariya has always admired the code of conduct of the Paladins, and feels she shares many of their ideals and ways of life, so she has applied to their organization so that she might become one herself.
She has since finished her training and became a Paladin, joining the ranks of the Sultansworn of Ul'dah which she still serves to this very day.
