History

Awakening

The only thing Tyberius can remember of his past is that he "awoke" one day underneath the Dreaming Dragon in the Coerthas Western Highlands. Seeking shelter he was thought a heratic and imprisoned. Shortly after he was transported deep within the Black Shroud and sold as a slave to a man only known as "Spiculus" in the Garlean Empire. During this time he was used as a fighter in an underground club of a slave fighting ring. Where owners threw whatever slave they saw fit into the ring. These fights were fought bare handed, with nothing but a loincloth as armor and almost inevitably to the death. Tyberius' unique race gave him an advantage over others, with his scales on his body. This, however, did not entirely prevent injury. he often fought with a broken rib, arm, wrist or fingers. It was here he learned to push his threshold for pain to such a limit, that he often danced with death.

During this time that Tyberius met another "contender" named Caragai Gharl, who was also an Au Ra. They immediatly became friends, and held eachother in high regard. However, Spiculus eventually found out about the friendship and organized a match between the two. When the two refused to fight eachother, a reward of freedom was offered to any slave that would kill one of them first. Atop a pile of 15 bodies, Tyberius and Caragai were exhausted and bloodied. As more slaves entered the ring, Caragai's owner stole an Axe from a Guardsman, jumped into the ring and cleaved Caragai's head open as his back was turned. In a fit of rage, Tyberius charged at Caragai's owner only to be overwhelmed by Guardsman and knocked on consious.

Awakening an unknown amount of time later, Spiculus had Tyberius tied to a pole and had the pole set on his entry gate. Tyberius beared the harsh rains for 6 days before finally devising a plan. For 3 days Tyberius feinted being dead, until the order finally came to take his body and burn it. The moment he was unbound, he knocked out the two servants tasked to carry out this duty, and headed straight for Spiculus' mansion. Sneaking into his study, Tyberius took Spiculus by suprise and after a short exchange of words, beheaded him.

Sneaking through the mansion, he grabbed any supplies he could and ran to the nearest dock, smuggleing himself onboard ship full of other slaves, headed for Limsa Lominsa.

Axe in hand

After his arrival in Limsa Lominsa, he was able to avoid being taken as a slave once more. He wanders the city streets looking for food as well as work. One night after being involved in a street brawl, he was schakled and sentenced to carry out work for the Marauder's Guild as punishment. Wyrnzoen took an instant liking to Tyberius, and saw great potental in him. So much in fact that half a year after Tyberius began work, Wyrnzoen introduced him to Curious George - A Roegadyn seeking to train in the old ways of the Warrior.

George and Tyberius trained together for a time. Then it was revealed why the ways of the Warrior were so dangerious. On more than one occasion George had lost control of his emotions, and his Inner Beast took over. On these occasions Tyberius was pushed to his Limits Physically as well as mentally, keeping his emotions in check as well as Fending off George. Throughout this time, Tyberius spent much time meditating, and learning to control his emotions.

Through his meditations and time training, Tyberius was able to quickly conqure his inner Beast. With time and patience, he was able to help George do the same. Feeling that he could no longer learn anything from George, he bid him farewell, and began making his way north toward Dravania.

New Training

Tyberius was looking to become stronger, and had no idea what to do now. His only idea was to go back to basics, and learn how to survive. With that, he gathered his belongings and set out for the Dravinian Forelands.

Tyberius lived off the land for the next 2 years. Not having any human contact for the duration of that time. He learned how what herbs were edible, medicinal and poisonous. He also learned to hunt. However, in the course of his hunting he came across a small chocobo chick. The chick had no mother, and began to follow Tyberius. Tyberius let it follow, but made sure the chocobo was able to fend for itself. It was to provide it's own food, but Tyberius would portect it when the bigger preditors came hunting. The chick eventaully came to be his closest companion in those two years, he named him Stitch.

In the same area as the Dragons, he came into contact with them often. He found no threat in them, and actually helped a few of them once in a while. They paid him no mind, as he was never a threat to them. He feels most at home when he is in Anyx Trine.

Wandering into Tailfeather one day, Tyberius found a mercenary who required help. Finding himself in need of work, he took the job. From then on he accepted jobs as they came. During his adventures, he managed to help the Conjurer's guild in the Black shroud, and was rewarded a plot of land in the Lavender Beds.

The Mercenary

Tyberius wanders where his work takes him. He is a mercenary for hire that takes on just about any job that takes a strong arm. He currently is under employ of the Eikons.

General

Birthday 14th Sun of the 3rd Umbral Moon

Tendency Neutral Good

Occupation Freelance Mercenary - Expert Survivalist (Botanist/Miner)

Personality

For the most part, Tyberius keeps to himself. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, he only speaks when he is asked, and that only with as many words as are necessary.

He has a hard time trusting anyone, and will not let anyone get close to him. With that, his loyalty extends only as far as his contract. When he is on the job, he's all buisiness. Also because of this, he is limited in his fighting ability as he cannot trust those against him as well as those fighting with him.

He confides everything to his companion, Stitch.

He always has his emotions in check, taking even the harshest of physical or verbal punishment before his anger overcomes him and/or he is brought laugh.

As an Au Ra, Tyberius does not fit the normal meld of an Au Ra male. Due to the lack of memories, he has no recollection of the clan he belonged to, or what his function in that clan was. His knowledge of the Au Ra is only as broad as the tomes he posses on the information.
