U'dhel Hyberion

'U'dhel Hyberion'

A Half seeker and half keeper Miqo'te mage and scholar, with great eatheric abilities and a complicated and harsh history.

Appearance & Personality

Despite his difficult childhood, his obsession with - and thirst for - knowledge, specially aetherial knowledge, and his mostly reclusive nature, U'dhel can be uncharastically cheery and optimistic. He likes to make light of any bad situation, and will often crack a joke about it. He might often seem overly ironic or sarcastic... most of the time though, he means exactly what he says. He might be secretive and mysterious, but he is always honest, and if there is something he would rather not tell you he will simply let you know, instead of making up a lie about it.

Like his twin sister, U'riel, U'dhel has inherited traits from both his seeker mother and keeper father, although they both have mostly inherited their mother's traits. Most of their appearence is that of a seeker, including their "slit pupils" and shorter, but thicker, ears. The exception being their overly black hair and pale skin, as well as their ruby colored eyes which - according to their master and adoptive father - is a result of their mixed breeding. It is also believed that the twins incredible ability to manipulate aether is also inherited from their unknown biological father.

History

Born to the daughter of the Drake clan's Nunh, who was promised to another clan, and an unknown Keeper of the moon mage and adventurer. U'dhels father had disappeared before the knowledge of the twin's conception was ever known, and their mother had died after the difficult delivery of the twins. Despite what the Nunh believed to be a betreyal and a disgrace from his daughter, and the threat and promise he gave her to abandon her offspring in a drake lair, the nunh felt nothing but regret and grief after her death, and vowed to raise his grandchildren as members of the drake clan. Throughout the years it became more and more evident that the twins did not fit in the clan, and the Nunh along with the rest of the clan grew to dislike them.

For the Nunh it was mostly the fact that they reminded him too much of his favorite daughter, and unconsciously blamed them and their father for her death. But most disliked them because of their keepers blood, the fact that they looked different from them, their disinterest in hunting, their demon-like ruby-red eyes, and specially their apparent affinity with aether manipulation, which they both displayed at a very young age while protecting themselves from the abuse and bullying from the other children in the clan, some of which got gravely wounded after U'dhel accidentally created an explosion between himself and the children. It was after this incident, when they were eight years of age, that the Nunh decided that they could no longer remain with the clan. Not only did they not fit in, but they were also a danger to the rest, which gave him reason enough to break his vow and abandon them.

It was by hydaelyn's grace that a middle aged Sharlayan Elezen scholar and mage - who was staying at the local immortal flame campsite while studying some ancient ruins - had arrived at the clans home in search for supplies. The scholar saw the elders arguing amongst themselves, while younger miqo'te's were screaming their opinions on the sideline. The scholar understood that they were discussing the future of a pair of local children that had hurt 5 other children with fire. The scholar wondered what kind of children would do something like setting people on fire, until he noticed a big and charred hole in the ground, and proceeded to feel for aetherial disruption in the area, what he felt then both surprised and shocked the man. He put on and two together, but could still not comprehend how a child could have managed to summon forth and manipulate that much atheric energy at once, and it seemed by acciden't no less... The middle age was indeed intrigued, and saw the potential these twins had... but that was not the only reason for what he did next. One look at the twins face and the man's chest constricted with pain, as if he could feel all of their suffering and pain himself. These children needed someone to love them, to teach and guide them... They have the potential for a lot of good, but also a lot of bad, if they keep living like this they would only learn to hate those around them. That is why the scholar spoke up, and declared that he could take the childre out of their hands, they would have somewhere safe to go and he would teach them to harness their gifts. The Nunh, despite disliking the children, still felt kinship towards them, and was therefor glad he didn't have to abandon them to their own fate. After questioning the scholar for a while he gladly accepted his offer.

The scholar turned out to be Servon Hyberion, a very powerful and successful mage and scholar, as well as a voting member of the Sharlayan government, "The Forum", and a secret supporter of the circle of knowing. U'dhel and his sister was henceforth raised and schooled by Servon, who eventually adopted them as his official children and heirs, once he found out his wife could not bear children. Both twins were schooled in the art of arcanium, where they along with their father and master researched the ancient allagan art of summoning. At the age of 20 U'dhal left Sharlayan to study thaumaturgy in Ul'dah, and to start his own research in the ancient arts of black magic. Thanx to his previous magical knowledge and his talent for magic, it only took him two years to master thaumaturgy, and at the age of 22 he joined the Scions of Seventh Dawn, after discovering he also posessed the gift of the Echo, believing they could help him further his research into black magic, as well as to find his biological father, who found out had also been a member of the Scions. His sister had also left Sharlayan at the same time as him, she however wanted to become an adventurer, travel the world and find her own furtune. The twins were therefor separated from eachother and their other three family members (Servon, his wife who had become a mother to the twins, and could not have children of her own).
