Character
♦ General
The firstborn child of the Te'kuian family. V'ahn grew up in Limsa Lominsa, raised by his mother most of the time, as his father was often travelling Eorzea, for the sake of bussiness. At early age, V'ahn displayed a remarkable level of skill for swordplay, even when he was just playing with his wooden sword, much to his mother's dismay. She preferred a life for her son, free of conflict and danger. However, it wasn't long until V'ahn experienced his first fight against a Goblin. At the age of twelve, V'ahn's younger sister Ryuu'ka, at age seven, wandered off a little too far from Limsa Lominsa. Before she knew it, she found herself close to a Goblin camp in Middle La Noscea. V'ahn found her just in time, and protected her against a patrolling Goblin, who didn't take kindly to her presence. Unfortunately, the Goblin carved a cross in V'ahn's face, giving him the cross scar he carries to this day. V'ahn fought with all his strength, wielding only a wooden sword, until a Barracuda Knight happened to stumble upon the scene during a patrol, and intervened. After having been returned to their mother safely, she had V'ahn promise never to do something so dangerous again.
Several years passed, and V'ahn grew up to be a dependable young adult. His father wanted him to eventually one day inherit the family bussiness, but V'ahn initially showed little interest in this. After the Calamity, he had been honing his swordplay in secret, until he disappeared one day, leaving behind just a letter to his parents, saying he had left to pursue his own path. He had stowed away on a ship headed towards Western Thanalan, where he'd travel to Ul'dah. At the mere age of eighteen, V'ahn managed to catch the interest of a recruiter for the Free Paladin program. Always having had a strong sense of justice, and holding the desire to protect those close to him, V'ahn took his chances, and enlisted. Two years passed and V'ahn finally went home, holding the title of Paladin.
V'ahn had kept in touch with his family through letters, but never disclosed information on his location, to prevent his parents from coming to take him away before he could complete his training. Yet, once he came home, his parents were already past the stage of anger, and instead received him with open arms. He was also surprised to hear his younger sister had been a White Mage in-training for about a year, prior to his return. Despite her training, she still made time to help run the family bussiness, and just like her father, also went on bussiness trips frequently. V'ahn eventually decided to help out with the family bussiness as well, but only to keep his dear sister safe from harm, and thus becoming her personal guard whenever they set out to travel.
♦ Appearance
V'ahn is a young adult Sun Seeker Miqo'te, with light blonde hair, and cyan colored eyes. He carries a scar in the shape of an "X" on his left cheek. Naturally, he has the standard markings of a male Miqo'te. He wears glasses, although it's unknown wether he wears them due to bad eyesight, or just for style. Either way, he refuses to part with them. He can usually be found, wearing a form of armor, never leaving the house without a sword by his side. During one of his bussiness trips, he obtained a set of Ishgardian armor, wich he seems to usually prefer wearing. [See above picture]
V'ahn is about 5"5 ft [1.70m] in height, and has a slender yet athletic physique to him, wich is to be expected of a Miqo'te. He is not to be underestimated when it comes to endurance in combat though.
♦ Personality
V'ahn is a calm and thoughtful kind of person. He often shows a gentle smile, and firmly believes that chivalry is alive and well. Unlike his younger sister, it's difficult for V'ahn to lose his temper, but should one manage to invoke his fury, he quickly forgets about chivalry, and tends to put that person in their place swiftly. A good way to anger him, is to have a harmful intent toward his friends and loved ones. Needless to say, he values them above anything else in the world, and will put his life on the line for them, without so much a second thought.
When compared to his sister, V'ahn is often considered to be the more social one of the two. He knows how to use his charms to convince, sway, and sometimes even manipulate people, where deemed necessary. Despite his kind nature, he's not afraid to use intimidation to obtain valuable information. He'll rarely start a fight of his own accord, preferring to avoid unnecessary violence. If he's threatened though, or notices someone else being threatened, he'll raise his sword and shield.
Combat
As stated, V'ahn practices the art of swordplay, along with adopting a defensive combat style, using sword and shield. His training as a Paladin has given him an arsenal of Holy Arts, wich he uses to fight and protect. During training, he's displayed a remarkable intuition for combat, often putting him a cut above the others in his class. However, he's still young, and has much to learn, before he can be considered a Master of the Holy Arts.
