What People Say of Her:

"She's surely the most civilized savage I've ever met."- Kavaeylis

Marital Status: Single

Sexuality: Straight

Server: Balmung

QUOTES:

  • "True Neutral is often misunderstood. If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor. If a chocobo has its claws on the tail of a coeurl kitten and you say that you are neutral, the kitten will not appreciate your neutrality. To find true neutrality you must sometimes help the chocobo and sometimes the kitten. Never both, never neither. Always whomever will most benefit you most. Anything beyond who you are is subjective to opinion, and thus, never truly neutral."
  • "By staying neutral, I end up being somebody that everybody can trust. Even if they do not always agree with my decisions, they know I am not working against them."
  • "All skin colors, whether light or dark, are not due to race but to adaptation for life under the sun."

No, I shape my own destiny. I choose my own path. And should balance be made complacent or chaotic, it is I and I alone who will level the scale." -Unknown/Adapted

Basically- Kassa has no official deity or religion. She is loosely appreciative/interested in a balance of the Sun and Moon sisters, Azeyma and Menphina.

  • Azeyma- {ah'-zeh-muh} is keeper of the sun and goddess of inquiry. She commands the element of Fire and is associated with the ninth moon of the Eorzean calendar. Azeyma is the daughter of Althyk, and the elder sister of Menphina. She is most often depicted as a noble lady holding a golden fan. Her symbol is the radiant sun, and may have a connection to truth as a whole, as she is said to console all who would confess to their crimes.
  • Menphina- {mehn-fee'-nuh} is keeper of the twin moons and the goddess of love.

She commands the element of Ice and is associated with the second moon of the Eorzean calendar. Menphina is the sister of Azeyma, and the divine lover of Oschon. She is most often depicted as a maid carrying a round skillet. Her symbol is the full moon.

Alignment

True Neutral:

  • True neutral characters are concerned with their own well-being and that of the group or organization which aids them. They may behave in a good manner to those that they consider friends and allies, but will only act maliciously against those who have tried to injure them in some way. For the rest, they do not care. They do not wish ill on those they do not know, but they also do not care when they hear of evil befalling them. Better for others to suffer the evil than the true neutral and his allies. If an ally is in need, the true neutral will aid him, out of genuine love or because she may be able to count on that ally a little more in the future. If someone else is in need, they will weigh the options of the potential rewards and dangers associated with the act. If an enemy is in need, they will ignore him or take advantage of his misfortune.
  • True neutrals are offended by those who are opinionated or bigoted. A "hell-fire and brimstone" lawful good priest is just as offensive as a neutral evil racial supremacist in their eyes. They do not necessarily strive for philosophical balance. In fact, they may avoid philosophical considerations altogether. A true neutral may take up the cause of his nation, not because she necessarily feels obligated to do so, but because it just makes sense to support the group that protects your way of life. True neutrals tend to believe in lex talionis forms of justice. "An eye for an eye."
  • However, a true neutral being with a highly philosophical outlook may hold that law, chaos, good, and evil are all necessary forces in the universe. But all are of equal import, and none should be allowed to take precedence over another, unless an imbalance should be perceived--in which case corrective steps must be taken until the balance is righted once again. Hence, the motives of a highly philosophical true neutral character are perhaps the most difficult for any other alignment to fathom, for such a true neutral being will usually act first to preserve the balance, second if she deems it his business, and third if it is in his own best interests.
  • True neutral is typically the most misunderstood of all alignments. One common misconception is thinking that true neutral characters seek a balance by deliberately following a certain alignment one day and an entirely different alignment the next. These individuals do not lack interest, ambition, or passion--they value their own well-being and that of friends and loved ones. They may struggle passionately on behalf of themselves or others, as well as feel compassion for those they barely know. A true neutral character will keep his word if in his best interest. She may attack an unarmed foe if she feels it necessary. She may not kill, but may harm an innocent.
  • Here are some possible adjectives describing true neutral characters: diplomatic, judgmental, enigmatic, aloof, distant, self-reliant, mediator, even-handed, fair, indifferent, and impartial.

+ Many, many more.

Fears

"What is a fear of living? It is being preeminently afraid of dying. It is not doing what you came here to do, out of timidity and spinelessness. The antidote is to take full responsibility for yourself - for the time you take up and the space you occupy. If you do not know what you are here to do, then just do what is best for you."

Talents

  • Medical First Aid
  • Cooking Meat Miq'abob

Intelligence

“An intellectual? Yes. And never deny it. An intellectual is someone whose mind watches itself. I like this, because I am happy to be both halves, the watcher and the watched. "Can they be brought together?" This is a practical question. We must get down to it. "I despise intelligence" really means: "I cannot bear my doubts.” ― Albert Camus

Personal

Weapons

Staves Spears/Lancers

Magic

Magic or sorcery is an attempt to understand, experience and influence the world using rituals, symbols, actions, gestures and language that are believed to exploit supernatural forces.

  • White/Healing Magic: Generally curative, enhancing or holy magic. Mend wounds. Defensive properties.

+

  • Black magic: Mainly offensive. Self-serving, stat-manipulating, leeching spells.

=

  • Necro Magic: Offensive/Defensive/Healing. Balanced, despite being seen as 'dark'. Gives life by taking life.

Kassa uses a mix between the two that, when balanced, creates a sort of necromantic magic. And example of this in regards to healing would be:

To heal a minor wound, a minor sacrifice would be needed (IE: Squirrel) To heal a major wound, a major sacrifice would be needed (IE: Deer) - There are greater and lesser and all between measures.

Beyond that, and in such things other than healing like offensive and defensive magics, any spells/skills/magics used are relatively textbook.

Elemental magic does elemental damage- etc.

Crafting

  • Tailoring [beginner]
  • Fishing [beginner]
  • Alchemist [beginner]
  • Sewing [beginner]

[Somewhat of a Jack-of-all-Trades, Kassa can do a bit of many things, but nothing exceptionally well.]

Music Themes

  • Innocence to Corruption - This song is a sort of view on societies/big cities/innocence (children) to adulthood which almost always leads to corruption.
  • Lyrics on How to be True Neutral - NOT my sort of song, like the above, but has lyrics that pretty much describe a True Neutral person.
  • Best Theme Song - You gotta love a good TOOL song. Great True Neutral Lyrics and just overall tuneage. Very Kassa.

Before Dalamud's Fall[Backstory]

Born to the Vulture Tribe of Southern Thanalan, roughly twenty-five years ago, V’kassa (Drakon) was an enigma from the start. Where her sisters were blindly accepting of their people’s culture and unique ways of life, V’kassa’s mind created question after question, never truly being able to settle into the way things ‘just are’. Over time, this curiosity bore her a bit of a rebellious attitude, and when her ‘father’ was over thrown and killed, the new nuhn, Raekis, found V’kassa all the more intriguing to dominate because of it.

While the other Miqo’te held no ill will towards Raekis, V’kassa found him intolerable, as she harbored a disapproval of him having killed her father, the previous leader and nuhn. Even her mother seemed ignorantly comfortable with the way things were, because that was simply how they were done, but V’kassa struggled to see Raekis as anything but a head strung, power hungry, and obviously horny fool. He on the other hand, was bewildered by her.

Where her father and the others had seen her defiance as a disgrace, Raekis saw it as an unguided strength that could be bred into future generations. The more V’kassa seemed to not favor him one way or another, the more Raekis desired her to be entirely his. As a gift, and display of interest in her, the nuhn tattooed two small stars, one slightly larger than the other, on V’kassa’s right cheek. This public act of preference was not refusable, and considered a great honor among the tribe, but sparked a deeply seeded envy within the other females.

As the years passed, her sisters developed an extreme disapproval towards her. This jealousy came from the constant attention that V’kassa effortlessly held from Raekis. The elder females encouraged that once he had bedded her, his lustful interest would die out and things would return to the norm, but the younger generations had no intention of gambling their chances of being first chosen. Something had to be done.

On the night V’kassa was selected to lay with Raekis, the envious sisters devised a plan that would unknowingly ruin far more than they had intended. Convincing one of the tribes tia males that he should be the new nuhn, they encouraged him to first take V’kassa, that Raekis may never touch her, thus depriving him of what he has wanted most these past years. The weak minded Miqo’te agreed and went to the tent of breeding.

V’kassa lay bare, shrouded in darkness, awaiting Raekis to bring her into womanhood. When he entered the tent, she shut her eyes, finding she was exceedingly nervous, and that, despite her issues with the polygamous ways of her people, her heart had made room for Raekis. She found that she actually wanted this, and to be his. Perhaps it was time for a change in the Vulture tribe, and she would be the one to bring it about.

But the Miqo’te who entered the tent was NOT Raekis, and in the moment V’kassa reached this realization, the tent’s flap was torn open and the whole tribe stood in various measures of shock and disgust. Stepping back and forming a circle, the other Miqo’te watched in bewilderment as Raekis dragged the tia male from the breeding bed and threw him into the ring. V’kassa emerged, in little less than a blanket, just in time to see Raekis strike the killing blow.

He then, in all his rage turned his attention toward the tent, coming at her as though she would soon share the deceased Miqo’te’s fate. V’kassa’s mother shrieked out, “EXILE!” and as the nuhn’s hand reached her disgraced throat, it lost all motivation. Raekis turned away from V’kassa, his hand moving only slightly over her cheek to leave a scratch resembling her dishonor, and slowly, the whole tribe followed, facing the opposite direction.

V’kassa went to touch Raekis on the arm. She would plead. She would explain. For no other reason than she found, in that moment, her heart was breaking. But as she moved to touch him, his form stiffened. “Go,” he said coldly, “You are no longer of the Vulture tribe. You will never again be Drakon.” V’kassa lowered her head and winced at the harsh words, nodding slowly. As she turned to dress another voice spoke, “No. You leave with nothing.” Other voices chimed in, though no one looked her way, “Leave. Get out. Disgrace. You are not Miqo’te. Wretch.”

V’kassa could no longer stop the floodgate holding back her emotions and tears began to soak her face. She had done no wrong. She was the victim here. How could they treat her so? It was they, and not her, who were the wretched, and as this thought filled her mind, V’kassa lifted her chin, dropped the blanket and simply walked away. Away from her tribe. Away from her mother. Away from Raekis. The last thing she heard in the distance was her mother’s insulting cry, “May you always bare your shame!”

A few years passed, and V’kassa had created a meager living for herself. She had begun with small odd-jobs here and there, working in taverns, tending to the frequently drunk and injured, and over time became the go to person in event of an ailment. Eventually, a conjurer from Gridania heard of her ‘natural’ skill, and came to see for himself. After V’kassa healed his staged wound, he saw she was in fact talented and gave her a token to take to Gridania where she might seek out a better life for herself, and see that her gifts were not wasted. He told her of a great destruction that had plagued the lands, and urged her to aid with her skill.

Still feeling an ounce of longing for her tribe, and more specifically Raekis, V’kassa made the dangerous decision to venture back and ask only once, that she be heard out and pardoned. However, when she arrived back to Vulture territory it was all but gone. Through a bit of examination V’kassa found skeletal remains of various Miqo’te in the rubble of ashed structure remnants. Having been so caught up in forgetting her tribe and its cruelties the last few years, it seemed that she had entirely missed some grand event, and that there had in fact been a dragon who laid waste to much of the lands.

Her mind wandered. Was Raekis among the deceased and decayed? Was her mother? Had this been some sort of tribal war? Perhaps they had simply scattered, and those left behind perished. In any case, V’kassa took one last look around and realized she was in fact alone. No longer a member of a tribe. No longer an exile to the people who were gone. She pulled the coin from her pocket and studied it a moment before nodding and making up her mind to go. Upon reaching the tavern, V’kassa packed her things and gave her goodbyes.

Outside, a caravan slowed to pick her up and the lalafell on the seat beside the driver chimed, “Name please!” V’kassa tossed her small satchel into the back and climbed up over the side rail. “Kassa…” she said plainly, “…just Kassa.” The lalafell nodded and wrote the name down as the driver cracked the whip and they were off.

Watching Thanalan fade from view with each passing mile, Kassa did her best to let go of questions that may never be answered, and anger over her misfortune that may never be atoned for. Gridania was the start of her new life now. Gridania would hold not answers, but options and opportunity. It was time to put the past behind her.

Kassa’s fingers moved over the tattoo at her cheek. Well… most of it.

After Dalamud's Fall

A Realm Reborn (Present)

Kassa made her way to Gridania, where she learned some basics from Conjurers and various tradesmen alike. However, the vast population proved to be too much for her, and after a few months of work she sold everything and made her way back to her native homelands (Thanlanan). In her travels, she rescued a lone Alpha Coeurl from Hyur capture, and the two became somewhat of friends. They are presently traveling about the lands, a two felinesque tribe. [No funny bidniz, he's just her mount. Kassa's player (nor Kassa) is NOT into furrys or bestiality.]
