Appearance
Valentinox is taller than average Elezen at 6'10.2" with a slim build. He has short black hair with a red highlight (though he is known to dye his hair often). There is a black colored Duskwight tattoo on the right side of his face, though it usually isn't visible due to his fringe. A scar travels from his left cheek to the bridge of his nose, obtained in his childhood by those who thought he had no place in their world. He typically wears red or pink clothing to go along with the theme of his name. Nothing that is over reveling depending on his mood. He also usually isn't seen without his imperial visor, it comes in extra handy with needing to wield his bow.
History
Valentinox is a Duskwight, born illegitimately in Ishgard to a poverty stricken family but was soon after abandoned. His family was unable to afford to take care of him, and so his childhood was spent in an orphanage. Growing up, he was treated like an outcast due to his Duskwight heritage. He became severely emotionally detached and had very little, if any, self esteem. He was unable to experience love or know what it felt like to have friends.
Once he turned 18 despite having no where to go, he left the orphanage. He did whatever he could to earn coin no matter what it was or how humiliating it felt. Soon he discovered how much enjoyment he got out of pleasuring others, most preferably men. It gave him courage and self esteem feeling as if he was in control of something. He cared little of the reputation this earned him or how the higher classes gave him disgusted looks. He had found something that finally gave him joy, and he wouldn't be ashamed of it. His name was one that he came up with, figuring it was appropriate with his profession.
This proved to be quite profitable. Nobles would come secretly to seek his services, and to keep quiet about their meetings would often pay him extra. For some time the Ishgard Brothel became his new home where he was able to connect with those in like mind. He no longer had to beg for anything, and never had to face a freezing night within the Brume.
In his early 20's he became a Bard as well. Discovering he had a natural talent at playing the harp and drawing a bow. He rarely exhibits violence or anger, but has no qualms firing an arrow near an unruly patron. On weeknights he started preforming at the Forgotten Knight, soothing those who listened with his melodic voice. When not preforming or with clients, he often engages in acts of charity to the people of the Brume. Mostly helping give out clothing, blankets, and food. Even though he doesn't want any of his own, he has a soft spot for children. He cares for them in the hopes that they won't grow up like him.
With the alliance between Ishgard and the city-states in effect, he took his chances and traveled to Ul'dah to see more of the world. The change in climate was drastic, but couldn't deny there was some kind of charm about it that made him stay. Eorzea was something completely new to get used to. Not just the climate, but the people, food, and clothing.
Personality
Valentinox is very disconnected from his emotions, more or less most of what his feelings seemed like on the outside are faked. He doesn't share how he feels with other's as there is no one he feels he can truly trust. His enjoyment in what he does however, is always genuine. Most situations are never taken seriously with him and he takes great pride in messing with those who are humorless or noble. He's incredibly outgoing and loves being sarcastic. If you approach him then prepare to be flirted with in someway or another, as that is typically his first reaction when greeting new people. Regardless of gender or race, he treats everyone the same. He isn't a lustful as some may think, as he doesn't live purely to pleasure other's. Only if he's getting paid to do so will he show that side of him. Valentinox doesn't believe in love, as he has never once felt it in his life. There have been those who have attempted to gain his affection but it is always in vain. This makes being a courtesan even easier. There is never any trouble when it comes to separating his feelings from his clients.
