Valon Vaindelaux is an Ishgardian Elezen of Wildwood descent. To most he is called simply Valon, but his closest acquaintances often call him Val or Vain. Though he bears no noble lineage, he is a knight of Ishgard in service to the Holy See, and a trained dragoon. For quite some time now, his services have been retained by the noble House of Travanchet, a small but resourceful Ishgardian family beneath the high House of Dzemael. Despite the position he's found himself in, some members of high Ishgardian nobility still consider him a "baseborn," though most keep these scathing words for places most private, to ensure they go unheard.

Basic Info

Valon woods.png

Near-always bedecked in trappings traditionally worn by those that wield a lance, Valon Vaindelaux has quite a typical build one might find among his Wildwood kin. Standing quite tall - even among his peers - he remains quite lanky. Long limbs give way to a lithe frame, and both of these attributes make him quite agile on the field of battle. Lengthy legs made for jumping and strong hands trained to take hold of a lance, Valon's weapon of choice easily betrays what his favored form of combat may be.

Blessed with particularly good genes, Valon is considered quite a handsome individual by most. Blond hair kept in a tight ponytail frames an angular face, one with high cheekbones and a slender jaw. If it weren't for the near-constant scowl that has found a home upon his face, he'd be quite the dashing man. Instead, his attitude and expression gives way to an aloof indifference. The only real marring that appears on the Elezen is a scar that runs down the length of his left eye. Though not a gruesome mark, the faded line is clearly visible to anyone close enough to gaze upon his features.

Likes

Traveling. Despite a proclivity for complaining about inclimate weather, Valon enjoys traveling a great deal. There is a vast amount of Eorzea he's yet to explore, and he's secretly eager to do so.
The finer things in life. Treading a line between commonborn and nobility, Valon finds himself in a unique position. Unburdened with the expectations placed upon noble sons but associated with their kind, he has a particular freedom that some do not. With some manner of wealth at his disposal thanks to his associations, he is capable of living a life most born of his station are not.
Books. Valon is quite fond of reading - in particular, literature pertaining to his nation's history. Though, he tends to indulge in fictional pieces as well.

Dislikes

Wasted time. Individuals that insist on beating around the bush or playing games will draw the ire of Valon, most certainly - especially when it comes to endeavors most professional.
Heat. He's grown accustomed to the cold weather of Ishgard now, and seems to prefer a colder climate now. He tends to stray away from warmer locations unless required to travel there, and will most certainly complain about them if given the chance.
"Outsiders". In general, Valon isn't very fond of non-Elezen individuals. He's lived a relatively sheltered life, and tends to be quite condescending toward those different than he.

Relations/Persons of Interest

Romantic Interest     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Poor Standing

Solvaire Travanchet is a good friend of Valon and a fellow Ishgardian. Though there are distinct differences between the pair, they appear to get along quite well. The two trained together in Ishgard under the Order of Dragoons, and Valon is currently retained under the services of House Travanchet, a vassal House of noble lineage. He is mainly tasked with keeping watch over Solvaire, though his duties vary on occasion. Valon has quite a good rapport with Solvaire's father, Solainteau, and was quite close to Solvaire's late sister, Amélie.
