THE CHARACTER

Knock, knock, knock.

The Elezen woman moved at languid pace to the heavy door to her inn room, opening it a crack to check on the caller. A Highlander woman stood in the entranceway, caramel complexion accented by violet eyes and hair. Lisava. Though still wearing only a towel, Verilys opened the door to usher the adventurer inside, careful to shut the door without allowing any passers-by a peek.

Lisava looked around the room with a quizzical expression about her, “I was looking for Verilys? Is... she around?”

“Yes, you are quite the humorous one,” replied the Elezen with the hint a weary sigh, accompanied as it was by subtle smile. “You’re early and I’ve not yet had the time to tend to my cosmetics. You may wait in the study.”

Her Hyur friend content to recline on a couch, Verilys moved into her room. The lush suite provided all the furnishings she needed. Overly large, soft bed with lavender covers still strewn about from the previous night’s sleep. An armoire for various clothes. And, most importantly for the current task, a vanity table complete with mirror. From that armoire she procured a red dress and, once wearing, it she sat at the vanity.

The reflection that peered back was an Elezen woman who seemed to have an emphasis on keeping a refined presence. Her complexion was kept pale, a stark contrast to the raven black hair that she brushed out the snarls and tangles of sleep from. Faint lines weathered away fresh aesthetic of youth, leaving instead a more mature look that was complemented by sharp Elezen angles. Aetheryte-blue eyes added to the appeal and she was quick to accentuate their colour with dark eyeliner.

Meticulous detail was given to every aspect of her visage; she strayed away from colours for the most part, relying on natural duality between skin and hair. The one sole exception was that of her lips. A deep and striking red. Maybe it was to hide wine stains, maybe it was to provide a sense of vibrancy, perhaps it was simply to lure the eye to gaze at her lips and let the imagination wander. Whatever the intent, the result was the same -- she desired not to simply appeal to the eye, but to also demand a certain presence.

Stepping from the room and into the lounge, her waiting friend rolled her eyes with a soft laugh. Before Lisava was a small table upon which detailed plans, seemingly depicting a tower of some size, had been laid out. “You know that we’re just meeting to talk about plans, right?” She gave a pause then to allow for a smirk. “Even you have to get tired of always putting on makeup.”

Manicured eyebrows raised a touch as she took her seat beside Lisava, gaze wandering to the details laid before them. “How you do anything is how you do everything, dear. Were I to be lax in my attention to detail with myself, how could I very well see to this meeting?” The Elezen swept a hand in a grand gesture across coffee table. “Regardless… let us go over everything once more.”

And so they did, whatever those details might have been.
