The Aldaveir Legacy

For generations the Aldaveir family has delved into the research of Allagan relics. While their instrumental position to the advancement of magitek is unquestionable, it is not their central focus. As valued as magitek is, to the Aldaveir family's true interest comes in the more esoteric nature of the destruction of will. The Empire expanded with much haste, and the military needed to expand with equal efficiency. Enter the Aldaveir and their indoctrination methods. With a combination of social engineering, brainwashing, and magitek the Aldaveir developed the means to assimilate newly conquered lands into the might of the Empire.

The methods behind such research has been... less than pleasant. A strong stomach and a detachment from empathy are paramount for such endeavors, and the Aldaveir have somehow always managed to be perfect for the job. Victoria, of course, is no exception.

A Monster behind a Smile

Victoria stands at 5'7”, with long dark hair with purple streaks. A slender frame belies the fact she is actually quite strong. While Victoria follows the magickal traditions of her family, she has also trained her body, capable of slaying with either magick or sword. From an early age, Victoria was submitted and exposed to unspeakable horrors as a form of training. With the ever-escalating conflicts and demands of the Empire, her father wanted to make sure his only child would be able to endure anything she ever faced. Cruelty was the focus of her training, and the destruction of all empathic ability was the ultimate goal. Given the Aldaveir focus on brainwashing and indoctrination, the process was a complete success, and the end result was a young woman with no remorse or conscience with a well-disguised streak of sadism. Victoria followed in family tradition. Her ability to understand and design magitek machinery and weapons was a second nature to her, as is with any Aldaveir. Her focus, of course, was indoctrination. With the proper tools and privacy, she could make any man or woman betray everything they held dear. As the war with Eorza escalated, Victoria became a valuable interrogator, capable of cracking any and all captives, squeezing all the juicy information inside their brains, and leaving them an empty shell ready to be filled with unconditional love for the Empire. To assist in her methods, Victoria focused on healing magicks. With a combination of torture and healing she could extend the horrors she could unleash on enemies. To the untrained eye, she was unfeeling in her methods. Many a cohort lost their meal when witnessing the process. Over time her methods became so honed she could do them in the field without the need of a camp.

After the defeat five years ago, Victoria fled to Gridania. Having lost contact with all her comrades and finding herself stranded in enemy lands, she dropped all Garlean identifiers, pretending to be a traveling healer. She made a home of Gridania, joining the Conjurer's guild as one of their own. The focused school of magick seemed archaic to her, but she held her tongue and smiled politely as she employed her healing abilities to aid her enemies in every-day life. If there is something an Aldaveir is good as, it is false pleasantries, and Victoria used this well to put to rest any possible doubt those around her could ever hold against her.

Personality

To strangers, Victoria is polite and overly pleasant. Her smile is legendary for its ability to soothe people. Men often melt when she smiles at them. In her five years of hiding Victoria has earned a reputation as a stalwart healer with the best beside manner one could possibly expect. She takes great pride in her healing ability, and it shows. However, when in combat, she is often described as disturbing. Those who have witnessed her in battle have described her as joyfully cruel and viciously efficient. Although Victoria is engaging and friendly, she tends to keep people at a distance, avoiding deep friendships or relationships with Eorzians. This stems from the fact she still considers them an enemy. Victoria is bisexual, though it is not something that usually comes up. She has a weakness for Miqo'tes, and often avoids relationships with them since it brings out her cruelty. Because of her sadistic nature and lack of empathy, Victoria is a difficult person to court. She is more likely to have a fling with someone rather than maintain a formal relationship.
