Basic Info

An adventurer, a bard, an ex-Redbelly. A Heretic. He is one who sides with the dragons and opposes the forces of Orthodox Ishgard.

Villemont is, by definition, an unfortunate soul. Seeming to lose whatever he gains, he's taken on a bitter outlook towards life yet strives to search for a source of happiness regardless.

His marksmanship both in archery and handling guns are exceptional. Although his vision isn't as pristine as a Wildwood Elezen's, his keen sense of hearing more than makes up for it.

He vents through the art of music and song; many of his works take on a somber, wistful, or even angry mood. It used to be a main focus of his, yet in passing years he's set his focus more on his gunmanship while placing his singing career on the backburner. Killing things proves to be a faster and more reliable way of making money, he's found out. He can still dream, however, of rivaling the Homunculi in talent and popularity.

Appearance & Personality

Ash brown hair with pale highlights, pale skin with a tinge of green. Eyes have pale green irises and have dark, sunken circles around them. Has a somewhat gaunt but otherwise healthy body. Has a scar on his left cheek. His overall look may be considered intense or even intimidating by some. Depending on his current living circumstances at the time (and the amount of gil on his person), his fashion ranges from dirty linens to something more put-together and sensible.

Villemont's presence can be off-putting, perhaps even creepy to some. He has a tendency to slink around, and thanks to being light on his feet he has a tendency to suddenly "appear". He is a free spirit, wandering wherever and whenever he wishes when not under a direct command from the Dravanians. He holds true to his own set of morals; though he doesn't consider himself a saint. His actions can be calculating and even his most seemingly minuscule actions may be towards an ulterior motive. He is not against weaving a string of lies if it's for the sake of what he believes in, as well as for his own safety. Not against indulging (and over-indulging) in the finer things in life and wasting his gil in the process. He tends to be obsessive, obstinate and bitter, though he's capable of sweet-talking his way into and out of things to his advantage.

It doesn't take long to try his patience and has a tendency to wind up in conflicts of various kinds. Villemont is still very much a Duskwight and thus holds some racism towards other races. Wildwood Elezen, especially, are victim of his judgmental outlook. Of course, he's capable of seeing past the race itself. It usually takes a while for him to warm up to anyone, regardless of race or clan.

Biography

Childhood

Villemont had a typical childhood growing up with other duskwights in caves near the Black Shroud area. He spent most of his life underground with his mother. Although it was few and far between, he always looked forward to whenever his father, a Redbelly, would return with stories of life above ground. His father, a bit of an explorer himself, would weave tales of various places he had visited on traveling missions. The Black Shroud, Larkscall-- but most interesting to Villemont was Coerthas. He loved the idea of a land covered in beautiful snow. Wanting to weave his own tales of adventure, he daydreamed of heading out of the duskwight caves and traveling the world on his own.

Teenage

During Villemont's sixteenth year of life, his father suffered his demise at the hands of Woodwailers. When the horrible news reached his mother, she became distraught to the point of becoming neurotic, obsessive and self-harming. This lead to the eventual neglect towards her own child over the course of several years. He did not hate his mother for this, nor did he blame her. Instead his hatred towards outsiders grew. But instead of letting it fester, he decided to leave the caves of his home and turn his passionate energy towards music and archery. He decided to live among other Redbellies for several years, learning from them how to handle weapons and to live life on the surface. Most of the time he aided the Redbellies with foraging and hunting wildlife, though during the later years of his time with them he aided them with pillaging wayward travelers. By his early twenties he had enough of thievery and slaughter and decided to live his own life as a wanderer, perfecting his musical talent along the way.

Pre-Heavensward

During his travels in Coerthas, he came across the Ishgardian knights who reside there and was promptly mistreated as an outsider. Despite this, he managed to find shelter in nearby caves and came to witness the majesty of the dragons that made their presence known in the area. Seeing them clash with the Ishgardian knights greatly amused him, and with each passing day he would hope the dragons would win, out of spite. It was during this time that he came across Lady Iceheart. Taken by her iron will and her beliefs, and with no intention to leave the snowy lands, he declared allegiance with her and the Dravanians.

It was during this time that Villemont had discovered a firearm on a fallen Ishgardian soldier. Fascinated by its appearance and power, he practiced with it, eventually perfecting the art. Since then he's rarely seen without some sort of gun on his person.

Post-Heavensward

After the events of Heavensward, Villemont was relieved of his duties as a Dravanian soldier, though he still considers himself an ally should they ever desire his help again. Free to wander where he wishes (the size of his coinpurse depending), he roams the lands in search of odd jobs to make a living and to hopefully make his music and song more well-known... though he still tends to get himself in trouble along the way.

RELATIONS

Romantic Interest Platonic Love Good Standing Poor Standing
Sevotharte Loire : A childhood friend; one of the only ones that Villemont had growing up. He admired the somewhat older duskwight and looked to him for comfort and reassurance when no one else provided. Although they wound up going their separate paths during their teen years; Villemont couldn't possibly forget him and the impact he had on his life.
Mue Loire : Sevotharte's manservant that he had picked up during his adult years. It's sufficient to say those two are more than close and Villemont would wish to reclaim whom he once considered his. It also doesn't help that Villemont is allergic to the fur of Miqo'te.
