Appearance
Basically what is listed above. Yan does have a fairly dark skin tone naturally, his hair was originally a light blonde though has lightened to the point of being white as he got older.
Scar wise Yan has claw marks, teeth marks, cuts, bullet wounds you name it littered across his body most of the wounds though focused on his arms and back. Notable ones would a a set of shoulder to lower back claw marks, and the normally visible scars on his face, one above his right brow and another on his left cheek.
Facially Yan tends to hold a blank expression, smiles while common aren't something he wears unless he has a reason to. His eyes an odd orange coloration, seem to shine whenever he uses aether.
Personality
Yan is simply a level headed individual that seems to take dire situations to casually. He'll act on his own beliefs, doing what he believes right and just thus is never afraid to speak his mind if the situation allows it. Generally a caring person by nature, Yan wouldn't ignore a friend if they are need and will attempt to lighten things up a little even in the darkest of times.
Yan's biggest pitfall seems to be that he puts the lives and well being of others over himself, especially if they are close friends of his. This has been stated to be off putting at times, making him difficult to talk to or get an honest opinion from when trying to get to know him better. It also makes him come off as self destructive in combat at times especially when things get dire and he has someone to protect.

History/Timeline
Just loose information
Prior to the Calamity-
Wa'Yandih was raised by a seeker tribe on the borders of the Shroud and Thanalan, born due to a secret union of his mother and a miqo'te from outside the tribe. This fact was kept hidden, mostly because his father went missing by the time Yan turned two along with the fact his mother died to an aetherical illness in his fifth year. Aiming to do his mother proud Yan strove towards the highest position he could achieve in the tribe.
By the time Yan entered his late teens he was already a capable hunter, physically stronger than the vast majority of the tribe though that was due to aetherical enhancement. Knowledge wise, he was tactically intelligent though abit green due to his youth despite the trials associate with being tribal and not relying on other communities for aid. Thus in his twentieth year, Yan challenged the nunh of his tribe and proceeded to soundly win, the trial for succession being heavily physically thus leaned Yan's favor.
Yan's time as nunh was short over all, he held the position for only five years. Though he was diligent and performed his role well eventually his aetherical usage came into question. More so when he was caught draining sizable amounts of aether from creatures after a hunt, this calling into question the validity of his trial for the position along with sparking a underlying fear of him being something sinister. Yan tried to keep things under wraps for a year after that discovery but in the end Yan decided it best to concede his position. Though even that couldn't change how his people looked upon him, eventually their fear leading Yan to leave his tribe.
Between his departure and the calamity, Yan ended up settling in Ul'dah using his skills to make a living through the Flames mostly by way of hunts. Though throughout that time, Yan seemed to shut himself off from others, faux smiles to get by though never letting anyone get close, probably due to an underlying fear of being cast out again. But that never happened, leading Yan to lead a quiet life alone until the calamity.
After the Calamity-
Yan's tribe seemed to be unheard of after the events of Carteneu, though one can guess what happened to them since their lands consisted of the Burning Wall. Yan changed for a time after that, becoming what one would think to be a homeless vagrant that wasted away in the alley's of Ul'dah. Though he had two family members left neither could pull him up from the place he had fallen to. Though by some twist of fate, one day Yan stumbled upon a person who pulled him up and opened his eyes once more. A woman that gave him something to protect once more.
As time went on Yan steadily came to terms with what had happened and moved on. He was given a family again, through his work he was able to find friends that would support him for the years to come. Even the darkness that once threatened to consume him steadily came into line, his aetherical powers no longer being something to fear but something he embraced. Thus after going through a few companies we ended up at the present.
