Appearance

Imagine a cold, inhospitable castle in which everything down to the dust on the floors is neatly organized into clear categories. Now do your best to imagine this castle in the form of a living, breathing being. The result: Wes'li Voraaja.

This serious, overly-stern young man carries himself with an air of reservation and caution which might even be considered extreme for the traditionally isolationist Keepers of the Moon. Wes'li is of relatively average height for Miqo'te, but his lack of muscle definition and small build run counter to his preferences for heavy armor and shields. With OCD that borders on obsession, he meticulously looks after his chosen equipment and refuses to leave it unattended for more than a few hours at a time, even in the safety of his own home.

Wes'li's proclivity for organization and his "A place for everything, everything in its place" mentality applies to his looks just as much as anything else. His hair is somewhat ragged, yet bears the marks of meticulous attention that not even constant patrols in the dusty desert can disguise. His face is painted with lines of dark blue and black as both a form of decoration and also as a way to ease the strain imposed upon his eyes by the relentless Ul'dahn sun. His face is somewhat thin, youthful, and almost permanently locked in a sour expression ripe with poorly-concealed displeasure. He most often wears Rhotano blue, his favorite color, in a somewhat spirited attempt to distinguish himself from the shades of brown and tan in his home environment.

History

Wes'li has had no reason to share the details of his life among his former clan as of yet. Few things are clear thus far: he was the third son in his family, he suffered a terrible injury at the hands of slavers in his developmental years, and he carries his mother's sword with him to this day. As for the rest, he seems less than inclined to share.

Personality

Hearkening back to the castle analogy, Wes'li is a man of few words and little warmth. To use the word "prickly" for his personality would be to forfeit the opportunity to use the term "tighter than a golem's stony bunghole" instead. He places supreme importance on and faith in the laws laid down by the ruling body, and although he has a wickedly pragmatic streak in him, he tends to put the well-being of his country's citizens before his own. He lacks all traces of a sense of humor, although it is speculated that he will lighten up and cut loose after a drink or five.

Affiliations and Known Associates

Wes'li is an avid supporter of the Sultanate, and while he prefers to keep politics out of his line of work as a guardsman, he harbors many Royalist sentiments. He is currently seeking acceptance into the ranks of the Sultansworn, his idols and role models, in the hopes of one day becoming a paladin of the Sultansworn Elite. Unfortunately, he is dead-set on achieving his goal all by his lonesome, and has no known associates as of yet.

Other Notes

Religion

Wes'li has little use for religion. However, he does acknowledge his patron deity, if only to somehow work against the idea that he should be associated with a free-spirited god such as Oschon. It is almost as if he seeks to prove that he is not defined by the circumstances of his birth, and he does so with his ferocious pursuit of structure and lawful behavior.

Quirks

Beyond a face that may as well belong to someone who just got slapped by a cactaur, Wes' social skills are brittle and in serious need of assistance.

Equipment

The young Miqo'te guardsman carries an ornate, yet practical sword to which he assigns a great deal of personal significance. His armor is always polished and in pristine condition, as he sets about repairing and maintaining it after every day he spends on the job. His kite shield shines brightly in the desert sun, most likely used to blind whatever threats he may face on his rounds.

Rumours

The following rumors can be heard about Wes'li, predominantly within Ul'dah's city limits. (If your character has an opinion about him, feel free to add it here.)
