Character

General

Wolfram "Wolf" Sharpe is a pirate privateer who ran routes from Vylbrand to Othard. Until recently, he was Captain of the Tonberry's Rancor. His ship was destroyed after being ambushed by the Garleans and he lost most of his crew. He is currently working as an adventurer and treasure hunter to recoup his losses so he can get back out on the sea.

Appearance

Wolf stands at 6'5" and weighs approximately 230 pounds. He has very bright ginger hair and a scruff of a beard. He has mutable gray eyes. He tends to favor minimal clothing, used to the humidity and heat of Limsa Lominsa. He is usually seen wearing a pair of ornate daggers that channel wind aether.

Personality

Wolf is friendly and outgoing, always welcoming strangers at the bars he visits and striking up conversations. He's affable, and slightly crude, and doesn't take the world very seriously. As a Captain, he's approachable, but he wants to get the job done, and isn't hesistant to make sure his orders are carried out.

Combat

General

Wolf is suprisingly quick and nimble, given his size and stature. He appears to easily channel wind aether to supplement his speed, and he is a master of using his pair of daggers to great effect. He is also versed in ninjutsu, but seems hesistant to explain how he knows the Doman art. Wolfram also seems to know a few spells.

Wolfram's father, Wulfric, was a Maelstrom Captain. His mother, Lena, was an arcanist specializing in weather magick and served as a mate on her husband's ship until Wolfram was born. Then she became an assessor, while Wulfric still captained his ship. Wulfric's ship was sunk by Garleans and his body was never recovered. Lena still serves as an assessor. Wolfram was an only child.

Rumors

Common Rumors

  • "Captain Wolf? Fun bastard to serve under, if you catch my drift. Always generous with the booty, too. Shame to hear about the Garleans scuttlin' his ship though. I hear he's picked up adventurin' to get some coin so he can get back to the sea." -- Maelstrom Sailor

Moderate Rumors

  • "He was quite fond of the Doman's. Always managed to get past the Garlean pickets. I heard he had a Doman lover."
  • "I hear he's cursed. He seems to get a lot of magitek goods from the Garleans he raids, but they always seem to blow up in his face."

Rare Rumors

  • "I will never forget his eyes on the day the Garleans took our village from us. Eyes stormier then a typhoon. They took something from him, and from us. He was a force of nature, one you wouldn't cross, and ones those Garleans wouldn't be able to cross again. But fury will not bring back love, and they will not bring back my son or my village." -- Doman Villager

PC Rumors

  • "I met Wolf the other night while taking in some air in Ul'dah after work. He helped me up after I fell and then we had some drinks together. I got a little drunk and leaned on him, but he didn't seem to mind. He's very handsome." -Rian Pendergast

History/Timeline

Growing Up

Wolfram was raised mostly by his mother. His father was constantly at sea. She tought him the basics of arcanima and alchemy, and hoped that he would follow in her footsteps as an assessor. He idealized his father though, and always dreamt of the sea. When he was able, he joined the crew of a privateer ship as a cabin boy.

Privateering

Wolf was a good crewmember. Followed his orders, and he took to the sea like a fish to water. Trained on how to use a pair of daggers by a mate who took an interest to the young ginger cabin boy. The captain tought Wolf the stars and how to navigate and Wolfram learned how to run a ship. After several years, he got made Third Mate. During his time as Third Mate, the First Mate attempted to mutiny against the Captain. Wolfram defended the Captain, however, both the Captain, First and Second Mates died during the attempted mutiny. Wolfram took command of the ship. After returning to Limsa Lominsa, he was made master of the ship, which he renamed the Tonberry's Rancor and he began his command. During this time, the ship started running routes between Vylbrand and Othard. This is where Wolfram met Shinjou, a shinobi in the village his ship frequented. They quickly fell in love, and Shinjou decided to abandon his village to join Wolf. He began teaching Wolf the basics of Ninjutsu. This caused some controversy with the village, but this quickly became irrelevant when the Garleans pushed further into Othard and the village was threatened. Against his better judgement, Wolfram joined Shinjou in defending the village. They weren't successful, and Shinjou lost his life. Wolfram was able to assist some of the survivors with escaping to Eorzea, and Wolfram was adamant on taking his ship across the Garlean pickets to rescue Doman refugees.

Current

Wolfram's luck wasn't going to last, and he was intercepted by two Garlean ships who easily was able to take out the Tonberry's Rancor. Only him and a few of his crew managed to survive, where they were taken prisoner. This ship was intercepted by a Maelstrom squadron and they were rescued, and Wolfram returned to Limsa Lominsa without a ship. He now works as a reserver Maelstrom duty officer, trasure hunter and adventurer to earn coin to get a new ship.
