P E R S O N A L I T Y

((Will be reworked a bit))
At her core, Wren is independent, cheerful, whimsical, and stubborn. Her friendly demeanor belies her heavy preference for the wilds to the company of other people, but she is nonetheless fond of good conversation over a pint now and again…and yet little more. Anything beyond mere acquaintanceship is something actively avoided by the woman. She is all too aware of her ability to form strong attachments—a tendency undoubtedly inherited from her mother—and she fears the potential attachments have to form chains binding her to any given location.
Wren is no stranger to breaking the law, either. Though for the most part she does what she can to provide for herself—be that through buying food or hunting it—she is certainly not above picking a few pockets when times are particularly rough. She isn’t beyond feeling remorse for these things however, so she will usually try to “pay it forward” so to speak and perform some sort of act of kindness for others when she’s come upon easier times, even if it is something as simple as buying someone a drink.
At the root of all of this however, the root of leaving her former life behind for a life on the road, is Wren’s sorrow over her mother’s death during the Calamity and her desire to live life in a way the woman had only dreamed. Had the woman not passed she would quite likely still be in Limsa Lominsa gathering herbs throughout La Noscea and selling them at the market. Frankly she’s not sure whether the idea is terrifying or not; while her freedom has become unspeakably important to her, she’d also willingly give it all up just to see her mother again. This likely has more than a little to do with her avoidance of attachment in general as well.
But it would be a mistake to think her kind demeanor a mask; despite her tendency to avoid even the smallest bit of intimacy, Wren is nonetheless a genuinely good person. One who manages to find a weakness in her defenses would discover someone who is cheerful, selfless, and optimistic, yet stubborn, fickle, and cynical all at once.
