A mage born of dark ancestry, Trained from birth to fight... with honor
Xel'naga was born in an ancient duskwight settlement founded around the time of the Allagan Empire, in truth much of Allag's technology was used to make and colonize his homeland. But the whereabouts of the exact City of Ar, as he calls it is Unknown,and he will not say other then to say that lies deep beneath the feet of everyone (think DnD's underdark) and that the caves that were his home are now flooded by the ocean during the calamity. If one were to inquire about his life before coming to Ul'dah he would tell you that he was the first born sun of House Trellvani, the ruling family of Ar. He will tell you that he is of the warrior caste, and that he is the eldest of 3 brothers, and regrettably the last living member of his house. he has been In Ul'dah for 6 years now, and still to this day does he find himself an outsider Living in a land that is not his own. But there is a confidence in him that will not waver...
those who know him and can sense it there is something dark in him, but he does not admit what. He is both strong in his magical prowess, but also strong physically. he is not one to waiver in his decisons, but rather plan things out meticulously till there is no outcome he cant predict...

The most notable features of Xel'naga are probably his dark charcoal skin, and snow white hair. as you get closer you realize that he as Snow white eyebrows, and bright almost unnaturally so, white eyes. as they almost seem to glow with a piercing radiance. He is also extremely tall even for a duskwight as he roughly 7 fulms in hieght. He has often been described as rather intimidating at first glance by many of an individual, whether this is because of his cold demeanor, or rather deep voice it is unknown to him. Overall he will seem cold and almost uncaring, but to those who know him and that he trusts, the wall of ice will melt away and he can become rather affectionate and expressive.
He is a skilled and powerful mage, and this is apparent just by standing around him, for those who can sense it. As they can feel a strong aetherial pressence as well as a dark taint within his Aether. He also has over his right eye, a black arcane tattoo, who's glyph's and markings are clearly not of Eorzea. It seems Unnatural in origin as if it were put there magiacally as there is no scaring or markings from ink being placed into the skin. He is Also Notably strong and even for an elezen he has a very well toned and defined body. However one should note that he will not hold back against anyone. As to give them anything less then his best, is seen as a failure to his honor.

Xel'naga is often rather cold and seemingly disinterested in the discussions of others, as a result he is often found keeping to himself, even when going to places like the quicksand to share a drink. But he is always Alert and listening to anything and everything. IF he finds someone or something of interest, he isnt afraid to approach them. He can be rather brazen at times as he is unashamed to show his ways, or his teachings.
Infact he is proud of the teachings of his homeland and can be rather public about his relationship to his lovers, as it isnt unheard of for him to be out in public with one of his "pets" as he calls them on a leash. Truthfully one of his biggest flaws is prehaps his pride, as it has gotten him in trouble before.
That being said, he is often slow to trust, even Friends he doesnt fully trust. This is simply on principle and goes with part of his native tongue, as where he is from "Friend" and "Enemy" are one and the same. Only those he considers family, Brother, or Sister does he truely trust, it is infact these individuals that he will lay his life one the line to protect.
Xel'naga when speaking will always use full names of the people he knows, and will use full thought out sentences. Often sounding proper, or trying his best to speak in a respectful manner to others. That being said he isnt going to sugar coat his opinions of things either, and will be rather blatant about his opinions of certain people. specifically those he finds to be lacking in honor or pride in themselves and thier role.
He has a dark taint about him and some just consider this because he is a duskwight and often they are mistrusted. but rather there is something deeper here, as the source of the taint is from the void, It is the result of a bloodline pact with a voidsent Many ages ago, this has allowed him to grow a certain mastery and synergy with the denizens that live there. In fact it has been seen on a couple of occasions that he can summon voidsent under his control. But this taint has also unnaturally extended his life, to a point that he has no forseeable end, naturally at least.
Being born a noble and the first born of his line, has caused him to be rather well educated, not just in matters of the mind and other scholarly interests. But also in that of a leader, as he was raised to be the heir of his fathers throne. He was also first and foremost to be a member of the warrior caste, and such he is a skilled Witchblade as his skills were known in his home city of Ar. As he is a mage, and skilled in the dark arts, but he is also trained with a sword as well. He is admittedly no swordsmaster, but he can fight well enough that against a normal soldier he can hold his own without magic.
Xel'naga values and respects Honor and Pride. If he finds an individual of sufficent detail he will attempt to to get toknow them better, perhaps even respect. But as true with anything he does, time will tell...
In battle Xel'naga is a cruel and mercilous person, who will always give it his all and fight do the death. Infact he will fight to kill, not maim or capture. But when in battle he doesnt use a tradition staff or sword, despite that he does carry a rather powerful staff that is a family heirloom. Instead he will seem to not need a catalyst or focus as he doesnt have to have it in his hand to cast the spells. but this feat is not a matter of training but rather the rings and bracelets that he wears tthat function as an aetherial focus. butshould he find himself in need of a blade he will summon a weapon made of Voidal energy.
When it comes to weapons he is skilled with a swords blades of various types, such as Axes, and scimitars. But these skills are not an area he has mastered instead he prefers to parry the attacks of those that get up close and use defensive spells to set his opponent off gaurd where he will odds are finish the fight with a powerful blast of voidal energy or fire.
Xel'naga will always fight with a gladiator, or vikings honor. meaning if you fight well. Meaning you dont try to use tricks or unsavory tactics, you will see him fight you with a greater intensity and spirit, where as an enemy who fights without such honor he will just fight and get the fight over with instead of taking an odd sense of enjoyment with testing his skills he deems with someone worthy.
Xel'naga is a master tactician and planner, he will plan things out and often chose places for a reason, which may not always be obvious to another. This being said should he be in a situation where he doesnt like the odds, or finds himself outnumbered, he will call upon his connection to the void and either summon forth several voidsent, or he will just simply step into the void himself (if he does this he may sputter somthing about dishonorable tactics or something).
Ironically despite Xel'naga's natural tendency to be a warrior he actually doesnt activly function as a mercenary. Infact he seems to be an odd citizen of Ul'dah as he has been seen to have ties to the goldsmiths guild, where he is considered a master artisan. A member of the thumaturges guild where he functions as an advisor and private tutor to those he finds interesting. but he has also been know to occasionally take work for certain individuals in Ul'dah if he finds the cause with in his code.

Family
Before coming to Eorzea Xel'naga was born deep under ground and in essentially a place that was dramatically different in social structure and design, as many of the things there that are common place such as Slavery, caste system, and such are illegal or looked down upon in Eorzea, as such his view of family is very different. But as for his family of old
Father: He is the first born of his father Xen'karr Trellvani. Xen'karr, was the ruler of Ar or Ubar of Ar. His father was literally the most powerful and respected man in the city. He was a master of the same magics and skills that Xel'naga was taught to master from brith. This man was in truth, very similar to Xel'naga in appearance as well. As he had the snow white hair and eyes that are a trade mark of his bloodline.
Mother: in truth was not of not of noble birth, or even considered a citizen as it would be. "Kurra" as she was named very simply was one of 4 slaves that he kept, and considered his Companion. she was honestly not skilled in magic or combat, she was skilled in the things she was trained and allowed to learn. It may seem harsh that she was a slave, but it was the way of Ar, and the norm. However, to be a Slaver girl in Ar, is very different then to be a slave as it is seen in Eorzea.
Present day: in the days since the calmity, He has come to settle in Eorzea, and formally living in the outskirts of Ul'dah. But he has started to seek companions in his life. as living along these past 6 years have started to take there toll upon him. But his current family is akin to what he would have in Ar. He is Polyamorous in that he has mulitiple lovers that he does love equally, but he is dedicated to his lovers, and will not betray their turst and feelings. This being said, each of his lovers is treated like they would be in his homeland.
Neku Senura:This small Miqo'te is a dark skinned girl with light brown hair. She is a kind hearted girl, who is often shy and demure around others. She used to be a dancer on the streets of Ul'dah when Xel'naga found her and offered her a better life. She eagerly accepted the offer, and now serves as a maid in his home. She has shown her dedication and Love to Xel, and is a permanant member of the family. Neku, is also going through training to learn some thaumaturgy.
