₪ Personality ₪

Yomi is a quiet and reserved girl who seldom ever shows any kind of emotion. While she does have tells for how she is feeling due to her training Yomi does her best at concealing how she is feeling at any given time. Though born a Dotharl Yomi carries few of their traits and shows no enjoyment from killing.

Yomi has a love of adventure and a complete lack of fear regarding death; As such Yomi will accompany those she believes in and supports no matter how dangerous the area may be. Even when in mortal danger Yomi will maintain her calm. Should Yomi need to be carried out of battle she will express sadness and regret for letting the party down and being a burden, this will persist until she is forgiven and comforted, otherwise she will be silent and work herself to fatigue trying to make up for her mistakes.

At times Yomi may seem disconnected from the world and space out, this is due to her connection with the spirit realm as Yomi simultaniously exists on two planes so to speak.

₪ Combat ₪

Yomi takes on the talents and tools of an Astrologian to heal and buff her party members, focusing on aiding in combat rather than fighting herself. At times Yomi has very little aether and so she will use her star globe to gather ambient aether to help fuel her spells and give minor illumination in dark areas. While skilled in magic Yomi is almost completely useless in physical combat, lacking any martial prowess and possessing next to no physical strength.

If given permission by Mirabelle Stark Yomi will go on the offensive, using her magic to open a small void portal in her star globe which she then uses to cast void magic, however this is rarely if ever used and Yomi i s unable to access this ability without the proper authorization.

₪ History ₪

Yomi was born in Othard to the Dotharl tribe and showed no hope of becoming a proud Dotharl warrior. Upon becoming old enough for her first raid, an attack on the Hotgo tribe Yomi would get lost and be left wandering the desert. Eventually the young Yomi came upon a tribe known as "Maa" and stayed with them. The Maa tribe ate the meat of male Au Ra which Yomi saw no problem with. Some time after arriving at the Maa tribe Yomi would wander off to find her old tribe though this time with supplies and ample food stores.

Upon traveling for many moons Yomi came upon the nation of Doma where she became a vagabond. Yomi was often seen in graveyards talking to herself and would occasionally wander out acting like a completely different person, taking on the names of the deceased and enacting their final wishes. This continued until the head of a temple found Yomi and realized the gift that she possessed. Yomi could communicate with the dead and was prone to possession, as such the temple lead decided she would be a valuable asset to them.

The temple that had taken Yomi in was dedicated to destroying voidsent and would teach her their ways which the impressionable Yomi took to all too well. In time Yomi would become a junior priestess largely due to her gifts as well as her dedication to the teachings of the temple. Things continued smoothly like this for some time, but of course every tale has it's turning point.

One day the temple fell under attack from a voidsent of significant hatred and resentment; A succubus bound and determined on seeing the temple burned to the ground and all it's occupants tortured until they themselves were turned to horrific monsters. The temple tried to combat this monster however their normal methods of binding did not work and destroying a creature with such hatred proved far too costly. Instead the temple formed a new solution, a tabboo practice even among them. With Yomi's permission the high priestess of the temple bound the succubus Laodicea to Yomi, sealing it inside of her.

Now living with a voidsent sealed within her Yomi began her training anew though this time it was a different kind of training; Yomi would be taught to repress her emotions and to control them as needed since voidsent often fed on emotions especially succubus. To reinforce this training Yomi would be subjected to horrific torture at a young age so she could learn to control herself in even the most dire of circumstances. Those around the temple grew distant from Yomi, fearful of the monster inside her that had killed so many of their brethren. Now in isolation Yomi would learn to cope with solitude, taking comfort in the head of the temple who was training her and in a way raising her. Yomi also grew to fixate on the temple leader's daughter Mirabelle, a high ranking monk devoted to the eradication of voidsent. The two would grow close though never beyond travel companions and friends since Yomi had been taught that love would lead her to killing all those she cared for.

When the Garleans attacked Yomi's temple was soon found in flame. On the leader's last request Yomi would run with his daughter, journeying to Eorzea with her and staying at her side. The two journeyed all across Eorzea hunting voidsent. Yomi would handle all the cooking and mending of Mirabelle's gear while Mirabelle herself would call the shots. All was going well until one day in Mor Dhona they got separated near Silvertear. Hearing voices from the lake Yomi would walk towards it and look inside, the voices of all those who had died in that place echoing all around her. Entranced by their chorus Yomi leaned closer. The last of Yomi's coherant memories are her feet slipping and her entire body submerged in the lake where she would drown.

When Yomi's eyes opened she would be in a house, told she was the leader of a Free Company to which she had no recollection of; Even so with Mirabelle there Yomi and her would resume their lives, putting sinlvertear behind them while Yomi tried to piece together what had happened.
