Character

General

Found within the library or rarely traversing the main drag of Ul'dah. Sightings of Yomi are rare, and oftentimes those who meet her don't usually remember due to how quiet she can be. Often seen just observing rather than engaging. The only oddity you might notice is that, for a girl so obsessed with research, she carries a longsword with her wherever she goes.

Personality

Were you to consult my brother, I'm sure he would spend several days singing my praises and virtues. As it stands, the reality is far more dismal. Redeeming qualities are few and far between, and the flaws too great to consider me a worthwhile companion. Allow me to begin by stating my most prevalent sins.

Preoccupied. No matter the time of day, my thoughts are turned towards other things. Some new experiment, or a compound that I have recently concocted are usually at the forefront. My research is all-consuming, and I brook no other labor on my attention when there are important things to work through. It may seem as if I am unpersonable, but that is the price I pay for the knowledge I've gathered.

Obsessive. Continuing with the trend of my research, when I reach a breakthrough I will follow the thread until it ends. This could be as little as a few hours, and as long as a few weeks, during which time I am nearly impossible to get a hold of. My sibling is the only one who has escaped unscathed while I am on these binges, and even then that is not always a guarantee.

Cold. People often think of me in such a way because I observe my world with a critical eye. I have no patience for stupidity, and should you be found wanting I have no time to waste on you. Idle conversation is not something I am prone to, and if you wish to socialize I'd rather you do it in the library while I am pouring over my research than in a tavern where I am surrounded by drunkards.

Inquisitive. This is a gray area, for I know not if it's a positive or a negative thing. Though I stated beforehand that I do not like getting into a conversation with drunks, I cannot help but be curious of the eclectic group that tends to wander the main drag. This includes those within the Quicksand and those on the steps, and oftentimes I like to sit on my own and observe. What are they thinking of? Do they study the people that pass by, or... what is the term... 'check them out'? Are they there for relaxation or for mating? I cannot help but wonder, and as of yet the general masses are a mystery to me.

Affectionate. Getting into what may be considered virtues, I will officially start with this. Does this mean that I will cuddle up to anyone that gets close to me? Absolutely not. But those who are close emotionally are certainly treated in a different manner. I always have some kind of sweet thing in my bag for my friends, and though I do not count many amongst that number, I treat them all with a tenderness that is often thought impossible with my person. It is not something I enjoy displaying before strangers, and yet there are times one cannot help it.

Strong. In this manner I mean both emotional and physical strength, yet since we are speaking on my personality I will just elaborate on the first. There is very little that can get to me emotionally, and I consider that a strength. Those who seek to insult are met with a blank stare, for I've noticed that that is the most infuriating to them. Those who tempt me into negativity are met with extreme resistance, and I have yet to meet someone who can put me into depression. Save my sibling, I suppose.

Loyal. I will finish with this word, for the time being. My loyalty is not something that can be bought or sold. It does not arrive instantly, and it is not something that can be discarded without consequences. But whether a romantic relationship or a platonic one, once I trust you you have my loyalty for life. This, I trust you understand, comes with the loyalty of my brother, and the gift of our strength is no small thing.
