Overview

Born high in the mountainous regions of Othard, Yuki Furostomi, is the only known surviving descendant of a family of Raen known for their unique connection to Aether, not commonly displayed amongst the Au Ra, nevertheless their familiar structure more akin to their sister tribe - the Xaela. Aside from their magical gifts, the Furostomi family was known for their piercing blue eyes, cold as ice, and skin fair and white as the driven snow - aiding to their family name.

Little information is intact regarding her family, after the Garlean Empire began spreading their influence outside of Doma to the outskirts of Othard. Her parents are believed to have sacrificed their lives in order to allow Yuki, who was only a small child at the time, to escape on a boat bound for the continent of Aldenard.

Arriving in Gridania, Yuki found herself puzzled by her new surrounding and its people. Desperately seeking aid, but receiving little, she found herself lost, roaming the Twelveswood. Perhaps drawn to her unique connection with Aether, the tainted forest creatures attacked her in earnest, and would have ended her short existence if it had not been for the timely arrival of one of the Shrouds denizen conjurers. Upon realizing that the forest creatures were not the cause of the sudden imbalance of Aether in the Shroud, but rather this young girl herself, the conjurer took it upon himself to take her to Brother E-Sumi-Yan - head of the Conjurer's Guild.

Upon consulting with the Elementals, E-Sumi-Yan, and his fellow conjurers, took it upon themselves to raise Yuki and enroll her in the guild. As the years flew by, it became apparent to E-Sumi-Yan that Yuki's connection with Aether gave her a natural gift for conjury on a level unlike his other students. He took it upon himself to train her one-on-one, a decision that ultimately alienated Yuki from her fellow conjurers-in-training, making an already timid relationship she had with the people of the Shroud, even more strained.

With time, the people of Gridania began to accept Yuki as one of their own. Now, as a young adult, Yuki faced a new challenge - her talents were superseding her peers. E-Sumi-Yan, not wanting her abilities to be be squandered, pleaded to the leader of Gridania - Kan-E-Senna - to have her fellow Seedseers further her teachings. Kan-E-Senna's sibilings - Raya-O-Sena and A-Runh-Sena, were tasked with her training. It became apparent that Yuki's skills at a conjurer had reached an inpass, and at Raya-O-Sena's request, and the approval of Everschade, the Guardian Tree, Yuki was to be ordained as a White Mage, much to the frustration of A-Runh-Sena who did not want to see a non-Padjal being given such a high honor and position.

For the next few years, Yuki traveled across the Shroud with the Seedseers, purifying the lands of the ever increasing taint due in no small dart to the Garlean Empire. During her travels, the event known as the Calamity had transpired, while herself and the Seedseers managed to escape harm - the Shroud had been forever stained by the bloodshed left in the wake of the war and the release of the Elder Primal Bahamut. Yuki, Despite everything that the denizens of the Shroud had done for her over the years, held a bitter hatred for Garlemald, buried inside of her as the ones who stole her life from her. For even though for all intents and purposes she was a Gridanian, she still yearned to one day return home, and be with her people.

Yuki's resentful nature towards Garlemald came to a head when the Empire threatened the lands of Eorzea once again, her training with the Seedseers completed, and with the blessing of the Elementals and the spirit of A-Towa-Cant himself, Yuki was tasked with travelling across the lands of Eorzea to help purify the lands, and offer any assistance she could in ending the Garlean threat. Officially inducted as an officer into the Twin Adders- the military branch of Gridania, Yuki began her newest adventure.

Personality

Yuki, having been raised by the denizens of the Black Shroud for almost her entire life, grew up in a very sheltered environment, as many people of the Shroud tend to keep to themselves, and care little for the affairs outside of the Twelveswood. However, perhaps by virtue of her blood, does have a curious nature, despite having little understanding of the world around her for most of her life.

Contrary to her sheltered upbringing, and the dogmatic training of a White Mage, Yuki is very upfront with her sexuality, even being known to use her feminine charms to her advantage. Rumors have even floated around about her promiscuity, but are largely unfounded.

Due in part to her role as a healer, she has a very caring heart, and seeks to aid individuals who have been harmed. However, when it comes to observing a situation or group of people as a whole, she is surprisingly pragmatic - known to think through a situation before taking any knee-jerk reactions for better or worse. A trait, that many of her fellow healers have found both disagreeable, and practical. Earning her both ire and admiration, sometimes form the same persons.

Appearance

Yuki is a female Raen Au'Ra of average height and built. She has golden blonde hair, which accentuates her natural Raen scales. She also has pale, white skin often compared to the driven snow, and eyes that are both piecing and as cold as ice - physical traits that are rather unique to her family, and earn her many admirers.
