Appearance
Z'tajha - or "Taj", as she prefers to be called - is a tall and lanky teenaged Miqo'te. While her constant time swimming keeps her from accumulating a smell, her hair is like black-and-violet straw and her skin is dry and freckled from the salt and constant sun. Following much the same pattern of lived-in as her body, her clothes are cheaply made and often patched together, from the tips of her scuffed boots to the scraps of cloth sewn haphazardly onto the top of her shirt. Even her ears - notched as they are about the tips - and her tail look bedraggled, though she almost always sports an enthusiastic grin to offset what could otherwise seem dowdy.
She's all skin and bones and could pass as a boy if she bothered to try. Despite the relative poor state of her, she seems to have a penchant for shiny baubles, and her fingers are often adorned with cheap rings that leave marks on her skin from how poor their make is. Chipped nails often end up lathered with mis-matched colours, and she usually sports a flower behind one ear, likely stolen from someone's window as she passed by in the morning.
Like many of her race, her eyes are mismatched - one a deep violet, the other a bright green, and her face is scuffed up on a fairly regular basis; she's no stranger to cuts, scrapes, and bruises, usually gained from boat-related mishaps (or darting about to avoid being caught after fouling up a pick-pocketing attempt.) Scabbed, knobbly knees and bony elbows are the regular for this cheerful and impish young woman.
Behavior
Quick to temper, quick to laugh, and quick to drink. Taj loves life, and loves laughing, but is hard-pressed to ever lie. As such, almost everything she points out in life tends to be blurted and often a bit impolite, though there's (almost) never any malice behind her questions and comments. Her tail is quite active, though hardly needed to be seen to recognize her moods. Taj is loud and ornery often, highly sensitive but as quick to forgive as she is to fluff up and yell at perceived slights.
Her hands are almost never still, always fiddling with her hair, wrung together, picking at a scab, or twisting her rings. Likewise, her ears tend to pin forward or back rapidly through her equally rapid speech; she's animated, to say the least.
