Character

General

Born Zahja Moui, Zahja took on the surname Qimi, after once overhearing her mother drunkenly slur about a cur with that name who says was the girls’ father. Having spent most of her life ostracized by her clan for being different, Zahja seized the opportunity after her grandmother’s death to leave the tribe to become an adventuring free spirit like her long gone mother. However, being an extreme introvert, and now away from anyone or anything she knew, she is finding it to be a hard goal to accomplish.

Appearance

Zahja is fairly short compared to others in her tribe, with brown skin, snow white hair, and bright pale green eyes. Her markings are basic, just two swipes across her cheeks, and has both ears pierced.

Behavior

Due to spending much of her childhood isolated from the rest, Zahja is painfully shy and prone to anxiety attacks when amongst too many people. She has a soft voice, and usually only speaks when spoken to, except around those she is very close with, such as her sister, in which case she her voice becomes louder and more boisterous. With her soft voice, serious and shy nature, people usually assume that she is much younger than she actually is. In her attempts to try to come out of her shell, she often tries to use these assumptions to her advantage, usually after a round of alcohol, and attempts to portray herself as playful, ditzy, and flirty, though more often than not these actions just come across to others as awkward. For those who do get the rare chance to really know her, and bring her out of her shell, they find her to be really funny and witty, as well as highly intelligent.

Family

Pyha Moui – Zahja’s older sister, by one year, and only friend in the clan they come from.

Kahlia Moui – Zahja’s mother. Always a free spirit, she left the tribe at an early age to sail the seas, and only returned to them sporadically to visit the children she left behind. The last time Zahja saw her, was six years ago, and no one is sure whether she is dead or alive.

Nanda Moui (Deceased) – Zahja’s Grandmother who raised her. Reserved in nature, the only ones she really showed warmth to was her grandchildren. She always blamed her lack of affection on her daughter as the reason her daughter ran off, and strived not to make the same mistakes with her granddaughters.

History/Timeline

Zahja comes from a small clan of Keepers of the Moon, nomadic in nature. Her mother left home at a young age to join up with pirates, and subsequently getting pregnant, gave birth to twin girls which she then proceeded to drop the babies off for her mother to raise, and quickly left for parts unknown, only visiting the girls once every few years when she was in port. As a result, Zahja and her sister, never got a chance to really know their mother and was given no information at all regarding their father or the circumstances of their birth. This action of course sparked wild tales as to the origins of the children, each tale stranger and more unbelievable than the last. However, due to the fact her fur is pale and her skin darker than most Keepers of the Moon, the most commonly believed rumored in the tribe that she was really born as a result of her mother being involved with a lower ranked Seeker of the Sun male, and she and her sister were often ostracized in the tribe due to it.
