Biography

Edelin is a native Ishgardian, born to a respectable family, until her mother deserted. She and her father were shunned and bit by bit stripped of their standing until they lived in a bolthole in the Brume. Her father, angry and heartbroken, disavowed any knowledge of his wife and continued raising Edelin alone, determined to impress upon her the importance of loyalty and duty above everything else. Edelin took the lessons to heart, becoming a model citizen. But even that doesn't earn a deserter's daughter a place in Ishgard's army. It took her months of stubborn insistence and begging for Sir Grimmia Dailemont to train her before the knight yielded. Often she comes under ridicule and suspicion but she doesn't let it deter her, needing to prove that she can and will succeed to herself as much as to others.

Recently she learned that her mother is alive and well in Eorzea. With her father's reluctant permission she went to look for the deserter and hopefully bring her back to face justice for her crime. She didn't find the answers she expected, and is now living with her mother while she tries to figure out what to do next.

Appearance & Personality

Edelin keeps her scale armor in pristine condition and her hair kept back in a tight ponytail; a few locks always manage to escape, much to her annoyance. When she's not training she dresses simply.

She's fairly blunt and strict with a rather linear mind, sarcasm often escaping her grasp. She has a short temper and will rise to any challenge given to her. Her loyalty to Ishgard and devotion to Halone are the most important things in her life. It's not often she lets herself relax and have fun.

The only thing Edelin kept of her mother's is her name, determined to restore honor to it, and her chocobo Mathias. She's recently found that Eloise Sharp is someone other than the knight she remembers. ♥ Ferrand Ronsard - Edelin's father. A scholar of some renown, he raised her with a firm hand. It is not a warm relationship, but it is a loving one. ♥ Mathias - An old grey chocobo and Edelin's only friend. He was well trained by his previous owner and follows Edelin everywhere when not in his stable. When she's feeling low or overwhelmed she can be found hiding in there with him. ● Grimmia Dailemont - a knight of Ishgard and Edelin's mentor. Grimmia has a practical outlook on life. Sentiment does little to impress her, but Edelin's stubborn drive caught her attention. ●Rinh Amariyo - an arcanist and history buff, Edelin unintentionally got hired onto one of Rinh's expeditions. She was happy to find the petite miqo'te possessed a vast book collection and was willing to lend them. ●Avali Nahsra - a skilled dancer from Ul'dah, Edelin finds her tongue tying itself in knots around the sly woman who flirts as easily as breathing.
