P E R S O N A L I T Y

Youthful in appearance and paired with an innocent and shy demeanor, Hakeh is an easygoing and terribly clumsy individual, almost apparently keeping himself away from danger, while in truth, thriving for its call; undoubtedly ready to help should the matter call for the needs of it, he dislikes--or at least he shows reluctance--in receiving aid.

Seldom the young man appears aggressive, but in circumstances of less-than-favorable notes, claws and teeth shall be ushered, for nobody to survive, or in case of his very defeat--to forget. Hakeh is particularly curious of the world outside Thanalan, and dreams of visiting many other places of Hydaelyn, given time.

And while the Seeker of the Sun isn't particularly well-spoken, he shall never bend the basics of the commonly spoken language, for a more lazy way of talking. He will indulge in it, only if he deems the situation appropriate.

L I K E S ■ Nopales. A favorite food of his which he regularly enjoys, either by snatching some from unaware farmers or distracted merchants traveling through Thanalan. ■ Tree-climbing. Often he attempts to climb the trees, wherever he may find one. He enjoys observing the world from above and sleeping on the branches until dusk takes toll, and even after. ■ Exploring. Finding new places and items always bring a smile. So does the thought of what he might run into next.

D I S L I K E S ■ Water. Dislikes and fears water. Not originally provided with this phobia, he developed it after an incident. ■ Snurbles. He does not dislike their appearance nor demeanor, however because the Seeker of the Sun's tail fur is very similar in fuzziness to the creatures' fur, people started calling him "Snurbletail", hence springing contrasting feelings within the young man. ■ Cold. As a Seeker of the Sun, he isn't particularly fond of shade, and of cold in general, however he will muster it, at his best, if he is left no choice.

Q U I R K S ■ Dreamy. Staring at the limitless heavens and the thousands of clouds, hoping to break the highest summits. He will never get enough, nor will his spirit. ■ Enthusiastic. While most of the times he refrains from conversing, when he feels comfortable, tends to demonstrate himself a good supporter, an apt motivator and an upbeat fan. ■ Hushed. Due to his meditative behaviour, even his words appear to be soft and almost whispery, a mirror to his very ways of living. While his voice may sound rather soothed and exceedingly, unfittingly calm, there are times he could show a little louder than expected, effectively making reveal of his truly youthful and undisciplined tone.

A P P E A R A N C E

Among the tallest range of male Seekers of the Sun, he sports a 5 fulms and 8 ilms height, while delivering 112 ponzes in weight to his feet. His skin is elastic and sun-tanned, pinkish in the extremities, while keeping his hazel-brown hair oft ruffled and unruly. He has black eyes, in a rotund cut, adorned by prominent eyelashes. Since his adolescence, he has yet to develop any body hair besides that growing on his tail or ears, tipped in black hues.

Hakeh has no particular style he likes to keep on himself, effectively appearing to the others as a coinless rat, or a bloke. Truth be told, he has several outfits, but since he does not dye them, nor chooses the most expensive fabrics, his apparel consists of simple clothing, practical for exploration, tree-climbing, prey-chasing, eating or throwing himself into a boiling cauldron to save a squirrel from a Goblin-prapared supper, his peers or those who see him, usually think differently of him; he will wear something as long as he is able to move freely in it.

R E L A T I O N S (NPC)   Khaba ( ♥ ) - Eyes and Heart Hakeh likes to get in touch with the other, more polite inhabitants of Eorzea. When this happens, he attempts to communicate with creatures of all kinds, and particularly with pawed ones, given his fancy for leaping on branches and admiring their abilities to change their destiny through instinct and protection. Once, Hakeh rescued an wolf pup--or a 'Khaba' as he likes to refer to it--from an pack left in slaughter and seemingly hopeless for survival, during a day of heavy showers in the Wellwick Wood. Since then, the little companion has always been faithful to Snurbletail, whether it is demonstrated through siding him in his travels or only politely scaring the young man's would-be-enemies away. To be added...   Naih'tan Moui ( ● ) - Savior of Ladies, Gentlemen and Cakes Having casually wandered off to the Black Shroud, Hakeh met a peculiar Keeper of the Moon going by the name of Naih, during a warm, soothing night in the Canopy. He and him share some characteristics exceptionally given their clan diversity; they both love to spend afternoons and evenings eating fruit and climbing trees, they both have an affinity for nature-provided food and are very fond of critters. Their initial bump in each-other was rather surprising for the slightly-unsettled Hakeh, target of the young man and his friend's inquisitive eyes and words, while they were sitting at the nearby table to his. Eventually able to talk, the two discovered a tad more of each-other, yet not in-depth. To Hakeh, the Miqo'te is a rogue and apparently loves to rescue boys and girls alike from danger, while gazing from above the branches.   Adalhaid Rask ( ● ) - Kind Ada In one of other his visits to Gridania, Hakeh had the pleasure of making the acquaintance of an extremely polite and generous stranger, her name, Adalhaid Rask, a highlander of the city-state of Ul'dah. Beautifully dressed in a red turban and garment, the gentle woman aided Hakeh find a possible path for his future explorations, since he revealed the glamorous individual his unwavering intention of visiting Ul'dah, one day. Hakeh was positively impressed by the kindness of the woman and her surprising interest towards his humble life. He cannot wait to visit Ul'dah, to thank her aproper.   R'elend Tia ( ● ) - Blade Elend of the Raptor Tribe Hakeh was swiftly convinced by Kind Ada's proposal to visit her in the Jewel of the Sands, Ul'dah. The boy, in fact, asked a carriage to drop him by the edges of Thanalan, paying what little coin he had saved up. While in the city, he was halted by a Brass Blade. The name R'elend Tia, a Seeker of the Sun, who initially frowned and doubted his intentions of visits to the city, but that later was kind enough to even show young Hakeh the way to the Platinum Mirage, where the higlander woman said to have dwelled at times.   Y'tuma Tia (   ● ) - Chocobo Boy Hakeh, while in the establishment of the Quicksand of Ul'dah, noticed a familiar face among the crowd. He swiftly realized it was the chocobo-mimicking Seeker of the Sun he and Kind Ada had encountered the day they met at the Canopy, back in Gridania. Hakeh has no specific impressions about this individual, besides his initial guess of him having forgotten how to speak. To be added... S T O R I E S Stories are in chronological order.   Awakening - Prelude to discovery... By the westernmost dryways of the endless wastes of the more deserted Thanalan, a boy laid. The weight on the branches pressed and pressed, and for the many beetles to behold a fall upon the bed of sand beneath ensued, seeing the little body of the Seeker of the Sun hit the dirty ground. Dirty, and mostly awakened, a freshly dazed Hakeh opened his eyes, unbelieving of his very shortcoming. To not care for the right posture ? To not be adequate ? Ontowards too many ears in his tribe had these recommendations had been hauled in the past, and as the tenth of the offsprings, an numberless amount of times was he yapped to pay care for dignity. Yet Hakeh did not care. Hakeh wanted his freedom and his solitude with his treat of choice. The young man woke. A dream within a dream, a chap is to call it. In a leap he returned to the ground, from the same unforgiving branches of his earlier years. But where were those scolding voices now ? The man directed boot and leg to the gates of Gridania, after having traveled from the southern reaches of Thanalan and in hope to get rid of his last count of coins. At the sight of the Carline Canopy, with the bustling and the peculiar chatter, the ears perked, and with no hesitation he soon was seen laying eyes upon the dining hall's wooden features. While the glasses filtered the dusking sun, rendering the restaurant famous for its green baths of light, he pressed on, claiming table and stool in swift precision. And with the order of his apple juice and the disturbance of the many loud cries of the patrons less inclined to resist the kisses of the intoxicating spirits, the man frowned at enjoyment bereft. With the comments of the two jolly patrons at his back, he turned, in entire embarrassment, the boy did. To discover a similar one and his friend. And with the short chatter and the intricate compliments exchanged, the group parted ways. All in one night ? "Pray stay safe, talk to me again." "Why, you cannot talk to ME ?"   Growing roots - Beginning to wonder... Yet, afore he could return to his own forest canopy change proposed itself. A greeting of friendly tones invested him, shortly afterward. And a highlander called, and a highlander sat. "My name is Ada." Meeting with another gleeful individual the same night ? And in the same place ? At introductions executed, the two learned of the world they belonged to, with Ada offering aid in finding Hakeh his place in the world. Red-donning pugilist, a stalwart and generous woman she was. A mother in tones. A kindness long lost to him. And with the resounding laughter of the table, a curious individual, additional to the situation arrived, spying from beyond a chocobo-fashioned mask. Unable to communicate with him, they had sadly to shut their conversation, for the Canopy to close its doors. With a fascinated smile an happy Seeker of the Sun returned ontop of a tree that very night, invited to the grand city of Thanalan for a visit. But how to catch the money ? How to make the Gil for the trip, in echo could be booming in the tattered-clothed one. Quite the endeavor the meeting was. And the miqo'te could not contain his joy. In truth he had been asked for the profession, and in shame he had answered 'none'. In truth, the boy was asked for the trade, and yet in sorrow he has delivered a 'none'. Ada, the kind highlander who had bestowed the poor bloke some company, talked of her land. Of her way of coin and of the marvels of the Jewel of the Sands, readily missed by the Seeker of the Sun. The red-donning highlander, had however given him hints. "Fast enough ? Get to sport." or "Keen of eye ? Spy the line !", and in employing his humble skills, the young man, apple by apple helped the caravan led by Humbert, peddler and retainer, through the South Shroud onto the edges of Thanalan. And with the same red sand, with the same dry wind, the Seeker of the Sun dwelled in shade until the night had arrived. Ul'dah, by the horizon.   Ululations from Beyond - Whispers in the bustle... He hurried to the gates, after the moon had risen, against dust and gale, for the boot to consume the heel and the hunger to pang from within. And in bells of breathless run the miqo'te arrived, her, a Rose among Rubble, Ul'dah. As fabled as he had imagined it the word of the peddler sounded true and vivid. "Bandits and Blades, is all that matters, while the power is in a hand much lower than the ruling one." he was told and reminded through Snakemolt onto Wellwick Wood. Finally, at the gates and not even a step for him to be stopped. Brown in skin and hair, a seeker of the sun to question his reasons. Hakeh could not explain. Hakeh could show, however. And in befriending the firstly doubting blade, and learning of his Raptor Tribe allegiance, the Seeker of the Sun asked for a name. "Elend the Blade" nonetheless. Ada must have been at the Platinum Mirage, for the gambling halls saw the Blade well-escorting the little boy by their doorstep. "Go search your friend now." "Well, thank you." To be added.... O O C    N O T E S Unless otherwise stated, all information below is OOC knowledge. ■ When he was younger, Hakeh would climb rocks, buildings, trees, walls, and anything else that looked climbable (with the exception of people) without any protection resulting in many bruises over his body. Of course, they have since faded. ■ He always feels like he owes other people. ■ Often he is described as 'that homeless rat', and while it may bring nerves and fury to many, he usually shrugs it off. ■ He speaks plain and basic, yet he has invented and speaks a secret language exclusively to address his wolf pup. ■ Morbidly attached to his beaded woooden wristlet. ■ Terribly romantic and passionate when he listens to other people's love tales. ■ He doesn't really like people that constantly, twitch, move, or employ unnatural facial expressions only to embolden their mood in a conversation. ■ Hakeh dreams wildly of being able to claim a house within the Goblet. ■ Often carries food on himself, but consisting mostly in fruit, there is little risk he will bring it back home, at the end of the day. ■ He doesn't like to drink spirits, yet he abundantly showers his belly with fruit juices. ■ Since Triple Triad was introduced to Eorzea, Hakeh has started taking lessons from whomever feels like imparting one.
