Raine is just enough "rogue" and just enough "lovable" that she managed to catch the attention of Baltazar's Favor. What exactly she does for them is not entirely clear, and it might just be the one thing she is disinclined to discuss.
Ala Mhigan Resistance
Raine was not quite out of childhood yet when Ala Mhigo fell, but she was old enough to remember her homeland of Gyr Abania clearly and fondly. Like many other Ala Mhigans, she dreams of one day retaking it, and she will occationally take an active part in the resistance. She's willing to fight for it, but if she's willing to die for it as well remains to be seen.

Elena was Raine's first, and so far only, big love. Raine was twenty when she met the Sharlayan Astrologian some twenty-five years her senior, and was completely swept away in the woman's fascination with stars and fate.
What Raine didn't realize at the time was that some of Elena's engrossment stemmed from the fact that she was terminally ill, and while Elena herself eventually came to accept her fate, she kept it a secret from Raine until she passed.
Raine herself did things during their relationship that she was far from proud of, and due to Elena's passing, she never got to atone for. As a result, her feelings for the women are filled with bittersweet regrets, guilt, anger and still a great deal of pain.

Raine and Corvas were children together in Ala Mhigo. Half a decade older than her, Corvas mostly saw Raine as an annoying brat following him and his friends during their childhood and adolescence, and a relationship that was part friendship, part rivalry grew between them.
Since then, they've dropped in and out if each other's lives. Corvas has repeatedly showed interest in a physical relationship between them, but while Raine can't deny an attraction to the man, she has so far turned him down.
Dal was in charge of Baltazar's Favor when Rained first ran into them, and the one who recruited her. Her feelings towards him are mixed, and while she enjoys both the work Baltazar's Favor does and the way they conduct it (she's a bit of a miscreant herself), she never liked the levels of control Dal had over many of the members.
She hasn't spoken to Dal for years and it's entirely possible he is dead for all she knows. She can't say she misses him.
