Rebelling against the clan ideals her ancestors had taken to adopting Hyur traditions and had won the titles of Lord and Lady in battle. However, unlike her class-obsessed, ambitious parents Thea had no desire to act like a lady. She found the rituals and rules of upperclass living dull and restrictive, so at the age of 19 she enrolled in the Botanist Guild in Gridania. She trained for two years under the careful tutelage of Fufucha and became a gifted, dedicated botanist in her own right. Upon completing her training, she was assigned to an outpost in South Shroud where she tended small crops of medicinal herbs and plants and treated minor injuries and scrapes. However, due to her kind and generous nature she often found herself dealing with serious illnesses and injuries. Sensing the strain this was putting on Thea, Fufucha gave her a new assignment, to go to Thanalan and provide sample and studies of the desert plants found in the region. Thea, bound by loyalty and duty took the role, despite being fearful and homesick for the forests she has always know and made her way to Ul'dah. Personality Thea is a quiet, gentle girl who likes solitude and simplicity. She will often spend days wandering around the forests, her only company the plants and animals that surround her. She has a close connection to nature and finds spirituality in walking in the woodland. She's a rebel in the most quiet way possible, she refuses to adapt her lifestyle to meet the expectations of her wealthy parents who think that her only value is beautiful, sweetness and ladylike behaviour. But, this fact often plays on her mind as she feels she has disappointed them. Thea is a pacifist, and dislikes fighting of any kind. She believes that most conflicts can be resolved with words or coin rather than blows. She is always generous and helpful, offering her skills in medicinal plants and wayfaring through the woods to any that ask. her sweet, but naive nature leaves her open to be exploited in her kindness. Thea is almost childlike in her mannerisms and speech, with a purity that seems at odds with the bustling city of Ul'dah. She finds the city to be too busy, loud and dusty and is currently incredibly unhappy with her situation. She tries to stay positive, but is beginning to let her homesickness for the Shroud overcome her. She's blessed with generous curves and has a soft, rounded body. Thea has heterochromia, with one blue and one green eye, a slightly snub nose and full, generous lips. Her hair is a soft caramel colour which she leaves long and straight down her back, except when she is doing fieldwork when she ties it back with any string or twine available to her. She's happiest in her work clothes, casual and slightly rumpled, often covered in plant matter or dirt but in keeping with the wealth of Ul'dah has been trying to dress more like a lady while in the city. But she often still looks uncomfortable while wearing skirts or dresses. NPC Fufucha ( ♥ ✔ ) ( NPC ) - Mentor/Employer Thea had to initially beg Fufucha to enrol her in the Botanist Guild, as the lalafell dismissed her fine clothes, and well-bred appearance as being unable to work hard. However Thea's persistence payed off and the two now hold each other in high regard, both as botanists and friends. Fufucha is Thea's mentor, and she aspires to be as knowledgeable as her someday. Leonceault ( ♦ ✔ ) ( NPC ) - Colleagues Thea has built up a good friend friendship with the Botanist Guild receptionist, him often mocking her high-class roots compared to her low-class appearance. Cicely ( ♦ ✔ ) ( NPC ) - Friendly Rivals Cicely began her training at the Botanist Guild at the same time as Thea - the two often spend their time together in friendly competition, but the affection between the two is obvious to note. Sandre ( ♦ ✔ ) ( NPC ) - Colleagues Thea and Sandre are friendly colleagues, he seems more keen to expand their relationship, but Thea is still rather shy around males. Yannie ( ♦ ✔ ) ( NPC ) - Colleagues Thea and Yannie get along as much as the job requires, however they haven't had enough interactions to be considered firm friends PC Robin Swan ( ♥ ) - Sister Robin is Thea's closest and oldest friend. The two seem mismatched at first, with Robin's playful and sociable demeanour seeming at odds with Thea's gentle, calmness. However the two are firmly bonded together in friendship, and Robin often bring out Thea's more relaxed, sociable side. Yuuki Ayazawa ( ● ) - Curious Stranger Yuuki and Thea met in the Quicksand one evening, they chatted about the city of Ul'dah and Yuuki quizzed Thea on her treatment of a mysterious miqo'te named Callisto, who seems to link the pair. Kallisto Harvey ( ● ) - Injured Stranger Kallisto was brought to Thea's healing hut one night with a poisonous arrow lodged in her shoulder, Thea treated the injury as well as she could, but could not stay to finalise the treatment due to her Ul'dah assignment. The two often chatted about Ul'dah, but Thea knows very little about the miqo'te. Melody Rokuyari ( ● ) - Injured Stranger Thea happened upon Melody in Thanalan when the Au Ra was badly injured and feverish. She treated her wounds and got her to safety at a nearby inn. They spent the night together, talking while Thea kept an eye on the poisonous wound Melody had gained. She enjoyed the Au Ra's company, and wishes to get to know her more.
