Ciel is a foreigner of seemingly great magic potential, although rarely seen making use of it anymore.

Her origins, a subject she rarely goes into, leave many to speculate on. Most believe she is one of a few refugee children that went missing after the Ala Mhigan were driven from their homes over two decades ago, returning some years later without a hint as to where they'd been.

Since a recent return to Ul'dah, Ciel went through a rather sudden change in her behavior, to a point where even some who knew her well would have a difficult time recognizing her. Trading her trademark healing touch for more traditional methods, she bears a stature much different than she did just mere months before, when she left on a supposedly short journey without much of an explanation.

• Ciel left Cliffperch, the Aeon Free Company home, in order to better her knowledge of Aether at Vylbrand Academy. She remains in close contact with Aeon.

First Umbral Moon, 1579 (Feb' 2015)

• Ciel abruptly cut ties with the Aeon Free Company, and was never seen returning to Vylbrand Academy after her first visit.

Fifth Astral Moon, 1579 (Sept' 2015)

• Ciel once again walks the streets of Ul'dah after a half-cycle absence. Her current allegiance is uncertain.

Ciel is roughly 5 fulms and 8 ilms in height, a modest size for one of her people. With a thin neck, slightly square shoulders,

moderate bust size and a less than ladylike style, one would hardly consider her feminine, but none would go so far as to mistake her for the opposite gender. Her slim arms and legs could carry less than the average Highlander could, but very subtle musculature puts her a step or two higher than your typical magic user.

Her face is more or less round, her traits slimming slightly down towards a small round chin. Her deep-set eyes are a pale shade of blue and are separated by a short and delicate nose. Her lips are a natural darker tone, the lower visibly fuller than the upper one.

Ciel's worn her hair in many different lengths and styles over the years, from a very long styled ponytail to a drastically shorter low maintenance cut. Now, her dark brown hair reaches a bit past her shoulders when loose, but is generally worn into a lazy ponytail, long bangs remaining on each sides of her face. A few unnatural strands of red highlights are mixed in, giving slight personality to an otherwise common look.

In a general sense, Ciel isn't one to worry so much about people's opinion on her appearance, as it might sometimes show. While her style remains reasonably pleasant to look at, it's more practical in nature than it is meant to make her look good, making her much more reliant on her natural charm. She wears little to no makeup, but has a sensibly clean appearance.

Ciel bears no visible markings, aside from the occasional light scarring. One might occasionally notice a barely visible mark near her left eye, just barely lighter than her skin. This detail is often overseen due to the more prominent presence of the eyepatch covering her left eye, and the hair covering it.

When it comes to her voice, Ciel tends to speak in a pretty even tone, often expressing herself with deeply controlled emotion, or even a lack of thereof. As trust builds, she grows more intent to reveal herself, as she becomes more certain of her opinions towards people. She may grow a bit more rambly and friendly, but will always retain certain carefulness.

Anyone who knows Ciel, even just remotely, knows she is a talented and trained magic user, with a specialty for healing magic. Her talent, while more potent than most, can only be used through touch or close proximity. While some people might see it as an inconvenient, Ciel never had any trouble rushing for a downed ally in the midst of conflict and has always been efficient at what she does.

Her return from a recent months-long absence saw a significant decrease in her use of magical healing, which she more than partially replaced with traditional means. Still as efficient as ever on the field, Ciel traded her trademark barehanded healing touch for gloved hands handling bandages, potions, ointments and herbs like she'd always done it.

While her most obvious specialty was healing magic, Ciel once learned a few basic sword techniques from a trained knight. Since her memories returned, however, she completely gave up her sword training, intent to remain far from any kind of sharp weapon if she can help it. It could be that she came to the realization that she has no predisposition to excel in this field, but she's quick to shrug off the subject.
