Neutral Good General Information Marshall is a pure blooded Garlean who is currently hiding in Eorzea. Marshall’s Father, Eldon tol Rose, was not a pleasant man. For years, Eldon campaigned against Eorzea, spewing blatant lies to the sheep who would listen. Marshall’s mother, Josephine, was a kind woman who had love in her heart for everyone. Upon realizing her husband’s insatiable hatred for Eorzea was causing real damage, she began working against him, using her close ties to dismantle the progress he was making. Upon finding out that his own wife had been betraying him, Eldon had her executed. Eldon served as the Tribunus Laticlavius for the eleventh imperial legion. Eldon was also one of the first commanders who voted for the attack on Doma and personally led a small infantry on a civilian killing spree. The man knew not of love or kindness. The only person Eldon ever showed sympathy to was Marshall. Marshall was to be the next Eldon. A military genius of biological warfare. Studying medicine was Marshall’s choice. He wanted to heal the wounded and do what he could to reverse the travesties of war, but his father saw it as a tool of destruction. After years of living under his father’s controlling thumb, Marshall left. When Eldon caught wind that Marshall had fled to Eorzea, the commander was infuriated - he was betrayed by his son just as he’d been betrayed by his wife. This would not stand. Eldon sent a handful of his men to follow Marshall. Their goal was to find him, bring him back alive, and execute him in front of Eldon’s followers as Josephine has been executed many years before. Thankfully, Marshall had been able to keep his identity hidden - though with the right description, anyone could pick Marshall out of a crowd. In public, Marshall kept his third eye hidden with a variety of headpieces, and would generally keep his hair pulled back into a ponytail. He spent most of his time in the city states doing odd jobs for his company. If he wasn’t out working, he was sitting in a café somewhere and enjoying watching everyone walk by. Marshall also frequently chatted with shop owners and fellow café regulars. He is a people person at heart, and he truly enjoyed learning about everyone’s histories. ❝ Every Rose has its thorns. ❞ Appearance Eyes Hair Skin Build Voice Grey White Pale Swimmer's Build Voice Claim Bearing Laterality Scars Markings Style Confident Right Handed None Third Eye Elegant and loose Hair & Eyes Marshall's hair reaches just past his jaw. It is a stark white. He either keeps it in a bun or lets it fly free. His eyes are a dull grey, but they complement his hair and skin well. Physique & Markings Marshall has a lean muscled body, similair to a swimmer's build. Reference. Marshall skin is soft and untouched. He is a man that hasn't stepped foot into a dangerous situation for 25 years. As he's recently joined the Black Crown Mercenaries, this is likely to change. Marshall's third eye is oval and stone-like. It is so opalescent that it is almost painful to the eyes. It is flecked with rich gold and luxurious sapphire. Hygiene & Attire Marshall is well kept and chooses to dress to the best of his abilities. His choice of clothing is usually loose fitting and always shows some small amounts of skin (chest, stomach, legs, etc.). He dons his outfits with confidence, no matter what he must be wearing at the time. He always keep some sort of headpiece on to hide his third eye, and he generally attempts to coordinate it with his outfit. If the headpiece is ever removed, he does cover the third eye with makeup, but it there is still a noticeable bump. Personality Psychological Profile After living with a man who lied to him for so many years, Marshall is slow to trust. Though he opens his arms to most anyone he meets, he is reluctant to ever tell them information about himself. Marshall is the kind of man who will always make someone else smile even if he isn't himself. He's so worried about being a disappointment or disliked by anyone he meets that he typically goes the extra mile to make a good impression. This often will leave him exhausted, though. He'd like to find someone he can relax around, but he isn't sure that will be a possibility. Voice Marshall's words are soft and confident with meticulous pronunciation. Voice Claim Philosophy & Mannerisms Marshall often messes with his hair when he's bored, just so his hands have something to do. He also like to toss objects in the air and catch them over and over again when he is waiting for something or someone. He is not normally a fighter, but has perfected his techniques for self defense. ● Pianist: Marshall has played piano since he was a young boy. He can sing decently as well.

Weapon Training Mastery: Rapier Expert: Shortsword Average: Fists Novice: Shields Combat Relevant Skills High: Dodging enemy attacks and placing himself in advantageous positions. Above Average: Predicting enemy tactics and counteracting them with his own strategies. Stabilizing wounds in combat. Average: Sneaking and hiding. Low: Feats of strength, such as grappling or improvised weapons. Non-Combat Abilities ● Soothe: Marshall's medical training and personality have left him adept as soothing his allies. Whether they are wounded or not, Marshall is typically able to calm even the most wild of men. ● Diplomacy: Marshall's silver tongue is good for more than just soothing the weary. He has dealt with enough political nonsense that he knows just what to say when two parties begin to clash. His ability to find middle ground and calm both friend and foe alike has saved many tea parties from turning sour. Combat Abilities ● Augmented Rapier: Marshall has built a magitek chamber into his rapier. He is able to spin the chamber, select a color of magitek, and use that selected element in his swordplay. He is able to use each element for multiple effects. ● Solidarity: Marshall's knowledge of war and the battlefield allows him to predict the enemy's next move and help his team to counteract. Marshall is best able to use this ability when he has high ground and can see majority of the battlefield. OOC Note I prefer to play out combat scenes by deciding on a winner ahead of time (whether that be through communication or random dice rolls). We then let the characters trade a few blows before steering the combat towards the predetermined winner. I feel this allows for a more organic combat without relying on dice rolls that can make your highly trained assassin trip over his shoelace. Marshall's fighting style is based heavily on Weiss Schnee from RWBY.

The execution was never truly explained to Marshall, and for many years his understanding of it was cloudy. Eventually he was able to figure everything out. This only began the distrust Marshall had for his father. Marshall was trained in fencing and piano from an early age. These two activites would be practiced nearly every day for the next 25 years. His instructors and friends that worked with him all become important figures in his life. Seventh Umbral Era Adulthood Marshall stumbled into his father's study and found paperwork after paperwork detailing just how horrible his father's actions were. He knew Eldon hated Eorzea, but he never knew just how violent and aggressive Eldon was with his orders. Logs of innocent people that were killed in the name of the Emperor litered every folder. There were deatils of camps that were targets for combat practice. The people who staye din those camps were those the military assimilated into Garlean culture. Eldon viewed them as striking dummies. Then Marshall found the logs that detailed who could be Marshall's "friend" and what they were allowed to say to him, what his instructor's were allowed to teach him, what his peers were allowed to say about him. Names were marked off with reasons why they failed. Marshall always thought these people had moved on and grew apart, but it turns out that Eldon had fired them. This was the turning point for Marshall, and he packed as much as could into simple bag and fled to Eorzea. If his father wanted him, he'd have to traverse the land he hated to find him. In Recent Times Moving Forward After years of living under his father’s controlling thumb, Marshall left. When Eldon caught wind that Marshall had fled to Eorzea, the commander was infuriated - he was betrayed by his son just as he’d been betrayed by his wife. This would not stand. It's been only a couple of weeks since Marshall arrived to Eorzea, and has since been doing his best to hide his identity.
