[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION The bastard-born daughter of House Wilhelmein, growing up in the mansion not as a family member but a servant’s child, performing chores, cleaning, and other menial tasks. When the family fell after the head of the household was declared a heretic, she and her half-brother Laurent Wilhelmein were displaced to the Brume. Lynette decided to sign a pact to be absorbed into the Knights Dragoon as an orphan, acquiring the supplies she needed to survive, raising herself and Laurent in the process. She was officially inducted into the Order after her first Dragon Hunt, an event that left a permanent scar on her forehead. Lynette later became a respected adventurer and knightly figure. In the Aftermath of the Seventh Calamity, she recognized a group of Eastern Au'ra refugees as innocent civilians despite their appearance, and decided to hide them. Her actions ultimately led to her being accused of heresy; she chose to jump in the infamous Witchfall Trial to prove her innocence, dying in the process. APPEARANCE Lynette Greystone is a tall and slender elezen woman usually dressed in standard Dragoon armor. Her hair is cut short in the back for practicality, cropped close to the nape so it won’t catch beneath her helm. But the front is longer, one section of hair draping down the left side of her face, with uneven bangs that brush across her brow and partly veil the scar etched upon her forehead. Her eyes are warm and inviting, a soft pink hue that hold a gentle light, capable of reassuring those around her. Her warm laughter, jokes, and stories shared over a pot of stew make her instantly likable. However, she has very few close friends; intimacy, for her, is more daunting than solitude. She is used to facing hardships and criticism, yet doesn’t always know how to act when someone truly cares for her. She seems carefree, even a little careless at times, yet she is quietly very perceptive, efficient at deciding what matters to her and letting go of what does not. Whether called a heretic, a fool, or worse, she rarely takes offense. Her so-called good nature comes from distance — She simply doesn’t waste time on people or things that hold no significance to her. Because she expects little from others, she’s rarely disappointed. Let’s be real, in the day she just eats at the barracks with the other Dragoons, and at night her little brother does the cooking. I’m not saying it’s their fault—it’s not like they could help the Calamity—but all the chaos in Ishgard right now? It’s got a lot to do with them. The whole damn city’s crumbling. The Calamity’s still fresh, the cold’s brutal, and the refugees keep coming. It’s funny how quickly they turn someone into a hero. Some are calling her a martyr, but let’s not forget what she did. She actively hid ‘heretics,’ tried to help those people who weren’t even from around here. Those refugees weren’t even all that innocent anyway. They say they weren’t really people at all. Disclaimer Little Tidbits. ■ After I wrote this story, I became worried that it might seem like an instance of fridging, where Lynette is merely used as the motivation for Laurent, the hero of the story, to take action. But Lynette is her own person and her world is ironically bigger than Laurent's. I hope to convey that she was by no means just a female character in her brother's life - her absence is a gaping hole that will not be forgotten by the others she had came across.
