Rubia Tinctorum; the symbol of the Order

The Alizarin Order «OATH» is an order of scholars chronicling the cultural history of Eorzea. They show a particular interest in Eorzea's lesser-known tribes, forgotten kingdoms, and zealous beastmen.

The Alizarin Order was founded by Lady Frejyalen of Ruyalen, along with her betrothed Rahdias and brother-in-law Keyu. As the last Witch Queen at the fall of the Ruyalen Kingdom, Lady Frejyalen was determined to keep the culture and history of her people alive. Taking what they could of their religious tomes & cultural artifacts, they left their homeland to travel the realm and find a new home.

As the three wandered the realm, experiencing the new lands for the first time, they realized that there were many diverse cultures and tribes around Eorzea and beyond that had little to no recorded history available to the common man. They wanted to study these peoples and made it their priority to chronicle all they could, so that none would be forgotten in the eras to come. After gathering more scholars and students to their cause, The Order was founded. They set up shop on the outskirts of Eastern Thanalan, calling their establishment The Chalet of Epiphanies.

The Chalet is the boarding house and private library of the savants & students of The Order. It is also home to The Smoking Sphinx - a Tobakk lounge that serves tea, smoke & spirits to the locals of Eastern Thanalan and travelers passing through.

The Chalet of Epiphanies

"Through the cobwebs and dust, the foundation seemed to have stood strong. Perhaps it could yet be restored to its former glory, and then some. Deep down, Frejyalen felt a strange kinship to this place."
- The Alizarin Order Origins
Chalet-Banner.png

In the outskirts of Eastern Thanalan, on a hilltop overlooking the entrance to Thal's Respite, is a large yet homely dwelling- a chalet hidden away from prying eyes.
You climb slowly toward the comforting scene, spying a puff of white smoke rising from the chimney, reminding you of how famished you've been for hours.
You follow the procession of stepping stones through the front gate; the emblem of a half-lion, half-woman with wings resides overhead.
Atop a short climb of steps is a set of double doors, painted a deep purple with wrought iron pulls.

Beside them in the grass stands a sign, with Eorzean script reading:
"The Chalet of Epiphanies - Inn & Boarding House"

The Sphinx's Vault | cultural archive & study

The Alizarin Order's archive of cultural research and historical reference is stored within. As such, admittance to The Sphinx's Vault must be obtained through an Order member or Lady Frejyalen herself. The records and relics that wait on these shelves have been collected from all over the Realm, and span topics including but not limited to:
- First-hand accounts of interaction with Beastkin
- Documentation of Beastkin beliefs, lore, and tribal communities
- Cultural uses of aether, alchemy, and magick
- Maps of aether currents and their affect on local communities
- Lesser known kingdoms & cultures of the clans

Those of the scholarly variety who desire peace whilst they study will find themselves at home here.

(( For an IC attendant at the Vault, please /tell Queen Frejyalen or Ayra Sagramore! ))

The Smoking Sphinx | garden Tobakk lounge

Whilst traversing the expansive lands of Eorzea, one must set aside time for rest and relaxation; our unique garden hookah lounge aims to make that possible. Whether you are in the mood for a cup of flavorful tea, a draw of fragrant smoke, or a vibrant flute of spirits, our lounge attendants will be sure to put you at ease!

The Smoking Sphinx offers exclusive house blends of Tóbakk, an herbal inhalant that has been cultivated for recreational use in many of the naturalistic cultures of the Realm. Patrons are assured that all blends are safe, natural, and legal for consumption.

(( For an IC attendant at the lounge, please /tell Euphoria Myrmelea or Ayra Sagramore! ))

Members of The Order

Frejyalen Ruyalen : The Lorekeeper of The Alizarin Order. When she is not sorting tomes in the library, she can be seen reading and drinking a cup of hot tea on her private balcony overlooking the grounds. The Chalet and its Savants are like a rag-tag family to her.
Rahdias Zephyr : Rahdias is the fiance of Lady Frejyalen, and a Savant of The Order. His focused area of study is the Amaj'aal beastkin and their tribal culture.
Keyu Zephyr : Brother-in-law and personal attendant of Lady Frejyalen, he is in charge of managing the Guardians who protect the Savants and Students of The Order, as well as The Chalet itself.
Ayra Sagramore : A foreign woman who came recently to live in Eorzea; found near-dead on the doorstep of the Chalet, Lady Frejyalen took her in and nursed her back to health. Ayra became a boarder at the Chalet, and the two have since become very close confidants. Ayra is a Guardian of The Order.
Giganziel Talres : A Savant of The Order who boards at The Chalet. A bard from the same homeland as Ayra, he labors to discover the secrets that Eorzea has to offer. With many a story to tell and proficient with the violin, he seems to have much knowledge and wisdom to offset his foul mouth.
Miounne Rondelet : A new recruit to The Order's Guardians; an axe-wielding freelancer looking for support and belonging - and, of course, a bit of coin to keep her fed and drunk. She does not have her own room, but has been on-and-off inhabiting the room of another...
Euphoria Myrmelea : The hyperactive young barmaid of The Smoking Sphinx; while she does not have permanent lodgings at The Chalet, she can be found sleeping in the parlour or in the lounge. Quick with a bad joke or pun, her happy demeanor makes her a favorite among regulars.
Raven Mimivachi : A lalafell boarder of few words, Raven is a young man who seeks his version of the meaning of strength. He is new to the Chalet and has yet to feel "at home", but beneath his seemingly tough and stoic appearance lies the heart of an awkward yet genuine person.
