Datura Dura-Venenum is a mixed clan Lalafell who spent more of her time traveling without really wanting to. Her mannerisms in speech and action make her appear older than she is, and her Lominsan accent frequently throws people off. If that wasn't enough, one can often catch her calling friends and unfamiliar faces 'lad' or 'lass.'

Unlike normal Lalafell name conventions, Datura's family followed a slightly altereed one. Each child was allowed to choose their last name based on who they were closest to; Datura's father felt that she was more like her late mother, and so she ended up sticking with that.

Basic Info

Datura is an odd Lalafell - born and partially raised in Lominsa before life brought her to Thanalan. Through studies, adventures, and work ethic she now finds herself working for a Free Company housed in Gridania. She takes care of most of her work while her leader, Leifon Altugle, is away and - when not busy - coops herself up in her library everyday.

Appearance & Personality

Datura takes an ever changing androgynous approach in most everyday activities, pursuing a masculine wardrobe in casual outings, yet maintaining a more feminine and professional approach when representing the Fenith Conglomerate. She very much prefers short hair, or puts her hair into a ponytail/bun if it starts to grow too long for her tastes. She's easy to spot with purple eyes, even darker purple locks, and mint green highlights that compliment her complexion. She also wears a butterfly tattoo on her left cheek - symbolizing her affiliation to her Company.

Datura owns a plethora of scars, some gained in her childhood while others obtained in recent times. Most of these scars are glamoured away by aether, but again, can be seen through leakage from overexertion or if she’s caught unaware. She has multiple, cathartic, self-harm scars on her forearms while battle scars have littered her stomach and legs. The most notable scar on her body is a large gash from a sword, courtesy of her Free Company Leader: Leifon Altugle. Not normally seen unless there is aether leakage (or if she’s waking up in the morning from nightmares and stress) is a gash that is between her eyes.

Datura is extremely bookish, making it her lifelong goal to document everything she can about Eorzea. She's softspoken unless surrounded by people she knows, and is one to easily let her guard down when introducing herself to strangers. Despite putting herself in a bubble most of the time the Lalafell has a knack for talking. She typically diverts attention away from her in conversation, focusing on the person she is talking to while trying to learn more about them just by their eyes and facial expressions.

Regardless of who or what is speaking to her, Datura truly loves the world around her and wants to see beauty in everything. She aspires to be adventurous and free, and wants to befriend everyone - even if it doesn't always come to that.
