General Information Koh’ya is a former Tailfeather hunter who decided to leave his homeland of the Dravanian Forelands to start a new life as an adventurer and to forget about his overbearing Keeper Miqo’te family. He travels with his partner and close friend, Shuri Kahkol, who knows the land outside of Dravania. Koh’ya is a talented trapper and hunter, and once he sets his sight on his prey, he’d never let them escape. . Appearance Hair & Eyes Koh’ya normally keeps his hair short to neck length and he lets his bangs hang over his face. His natural hair color is close to soot black, but in certain lighting can seem to be a deep charcoal grey. However he likes to dye his hair a deep shade of blue with lighter shade of cyan or lime green highlights at the tips, depending on his mood. His very short tail is dyed the same color as his hair, as well as the end of his tail colored the same as his highlights. Koh’ya’s eyes are heterochromia; his right eye is a golden yellow-orange, while his left eye is a deep sky-blue. When he grows excited, a glowing, blue limbal ring would appear due to his bond with a dragon. Physique & Markings Standing at a height of five fulms and one ilms, Koh’ya is short compared to most Miqo’te males and being known as the “runt” in his family. His physique is just slightly on the slim side, otherwise he is mostly average build. What he usually lacks in brute strength is made up with dexterity and cunning in combat. His facial features are on the soft side, though he is beginning to lose some of his youthfulness. He possess traditional Miqo’te Keerper of the Moon facial markings and his cheek tattoos are often any dark shade of blue. Another tattoo that is apparent on his body are the tribal tattoos that snake his right arm to his shoulder and side of his neck. It used to be simple in design and much smaller on his forearm, however, over the years it had grown slightly intricate, seemingly continuing to expand, and…not drawn by man’s hand. Hygiene & Attire Koh’ya often keeps himself clean, otherwise his partner Shuri would forcefully bathe him if he was kept unchecked for days if he was too tired from his work. He does have a sensitive nose though, so Koh’ya can’t stand it without a shower for long. His casual attire usually consists of loose fitting clothes that doesn’t restrict his movements, much like the cashmere poncho he is most often seen wearing, one of the enjoyable memories of his childhood thanks to Shuri for crafting it. For his more work or combat related attire, he prefers leather or clothed armor, nothing heavy or metal plated that would restrict his movements. Personality Personality Koh’ya is patient and quite timid, so mostly keeps to himself if he is with unfamiliar company or is within large groups of people. Though with those he trusts and is close to, he shows a more relaxed and playful cat-like personality. He has a curious spirit and loves to adventure and try new things, a perfect pair to his dragon companion—a descendent of the Great Wrym Ratatoskr. He does have his fears though and grows incredibly nervous and scared when he is near women of any race for some periods of time. Shunned and bullied as a child by his mother and sisters, Koh’ya still bears the physical and mental scars of his time with them, and as much as he hates to show this side of him to others. In truth, he doesn’t hate women and would love to get to know them, but personal reflexes and old habits deter him away if they get too close. Koh’ya is also quite naïve and can easily be fooled or even used, because of his lack of knowledge of events going on in the world. Philosophy & Mannerisms Koh'sae often goes with the flow with things and keeps an open mind when it comes to something new that he is unfamiliar with. He is respectful to those he sees that deserves it and he is not afraid to voice his concern if something does not feel right to him. History . Sixth Astral Era Childhood Born and raised to a secluded Keeper of the Moon tribe residing in the Dravanian Forelands, Koh’ya was the youngest among his siblings and the eighth son of the matriarch Koh Nelhah. As a child, he was often referred to as the runt, due to his shorter height and baby features as a youth, and was a constant prey to his older siblings’ bullying and teasing. The women in the family were harsh and fierce, not one to have filters or show any mercy in their actions, which eventually caused Koh’ya to develop his fear of women in general. Koh’ya never met his father, but he had heard that his father and the rest of his other brothers’ and sisters’ were different and this only added fuel to his hardships within the tribe. He was born with heterochromia eyes, features that were never in any of his mother’s children until he was born. Koh’ya never met his elder brothers, learning that they were killed by dragons or beasts of the forelands, other than the two that were born before him. But even then, the men didn’t care for each other, which eventually they left home when they were old enough. After four years, a certain incident took place when attempting to hunt in the woods nearby his den. Koh’ya remembered he was approached by something, but what happened after that he had no recollection of the events. The only thing that was left behind when Koh’ya awoken was a strange mark over his forearm and a small nutkin that stayed by his side. However, not wanting to return home empty handed concerned him more than the mark, so he resumed his hunt and paid no heed to the incident, nor bothering to mention it to his family. When Koh’ya grew to an adolescent, his hesitation and sloppiness had him on thin ice with his family during their hunts, and one day he had almost gotten several of his sisters killed by a golden Bandersnatch. His mother was furious and almost killed Koh’ya while she drove him away from the tribe. For a few days, Koh’ya fended for himself in the wilds of the Chocobo Forest with his only companion the nutkin he had befriended during the night of that incident, and was enjoying the life of freedom from his mother and sisters. Though, his respite did not last long and the dangers of the forest had finally caught up with him. A foreland aevis had cornered him in the cliffs and with nowhere to go, he was surely food for the dragon. However, it was in that instance did the mark on Koh’ya’s forearm start to burn as he tried to block his body with his arms at the rushing aevis, feeling the aether swirl around him uncontrollably. The aevis hesitated, but at that moment, a large dragon swooped down on the beast and crushed it with his claws. The dragon and the young Miqo’te stared at each other for long moments, their eyes matching the each other, and a sense of safety led Koh’ya to approach the mighty beast. They both sensed a strange comfort with the company of each other and upon Koh’ya’s first touch on the dragon’s glimmering ebony-blue scales, a bond was set. The dragon had vowed to protect his soulmate. Life after that changed and Koh’ya lived with the dragon, which he named Shuri, and among others of Shuri’s kin in the forelands. As the years went by, Koh’ya was then taken to Tailfeather to live with the people there; the dragon feeling that the youth should live with his own kind and not with beasts. Disguised as a mortal, Shuri help integrate Koh’ya into the hunter life in the small settlement, until the Miqo’te was taken under the wing of an old hunter named Pivan Issusha, which Koh’ya had taken the surname as well, wanting to forget his old life in the Nelhah tribe. He likes to hang around Anyx Trine with the dragons or the Churning Mists with Shuri, which is the dragon's birthplace and who is several generations descendant of the Great Wyrm Ratatoskr. Other than that he can be seen almost anywhere, due to his and Shuri's love to travel to different places and exploring.
