He has the tanned skin of someone who has been out in the sun for most of his life, and although he is usually covered up by sturdy armor of some kind, his body is toned and supple. His speed and flexibility are well-suited to his chosen profession, and when in danger he uses his maneuverability to get out of harm's way. Both his tail and ears are fluffy and somewhat sensitive, leading him to avoid being touched in those places by strangers when out and about. Hathaway has almost no propensity for magic whatsoever, which is why he chooses to focus on physical combat. In addition to the lance, which he can be seen with most often, he's also dabbled in the greataxe and hand-to-hand combat disciplines. PERSONALITY Hathaway can seem shy or stoic at first glance, wearing a serious expression on his face that has the habit of turning people away before they even open their mouths. Whether this is due to his lack of close friends throughout Eorzea, whispers and rumors about his past, or a combination of both is hard to say. Because of this, he oftentimes doesn't speak unless spoken to first, but when he does, he is polite and has no issues holding casual conversation. Despite what others might say about him, he never fails to help someone in need, especially in his adopted home of Gridania, and most seem pleasantly surprised at his willingness to go out of his way to solve problems. He has no qualms or prejudices about interacting with members of other races, but those with a keen eye have noticed that he is slightly uneasy around Lalafell for some reason. In regards to his fighting skills, Hathaway is steadfast and confident, and enjoys the thrill and excitement of battle. On the rare occasions that he opens up, he is easygoing and thoughtful, and asks frequent questions. However, there is another side to him that he keeps hidden, and some citizens look at him strangely in the more seedier parts of Aldenard. Is his personality a front, or are the rumors about him just unproven speculation? When he was still an infant, he was snatched away from home and brought to Ul'dah by traffickers, who swiftly sold him to a brothel. Here he was raised until he reached a suitable age where he could be put to work as a prostitute for private use, being bought by male and female clients. Eventually he was given the first name "Hathaway", most likely to sound more "exotic" or unique to prospective buyers, and the last name "Snow", as his hair looks white when not in direct sunlight. He is hazy on most of the details of his childhood there, but the routine nature of numerous indecent acts day after day turned sex into a mechanical, almost unemotional affair. He was forced to perform a number of obscene services for many years, until circumstances arose that forced the brothel to close down. He was finally free, but without any real skills to call his own he soon found himself offering himself in the back alleys of Ul'dah in order to raise money. Eventually he scraped together enough funds to buy passage to Gridania, where in an effort to separate himself from his past, he quickly earned a reputation as a competent Lancer and helpful Adventurer. As a result, he is immensely loyal to Gridania and its people, who took him in without reservation, although his odd name does raise the occasional eyebrow. Unfortunately, due to his lack of expertise in crafting and gathering, he was forced to return to the sex trade to acquire the gil necessary to fund his new Adventurer lifestyle. Even though he tells himself that he works as a prostitute only because he has to, he is worried that deep down, he secretly likes it. CURRENT Where in the world is Hathaway Snow?
