Hair & Eyes Soft and white as fresh snow, he's grateful he doesn't need to do much to keep his hair well-maintained. While he personally does not have any inclination towards styling his hair in a special manner, he does enjoy keeping it long if only because cutting it is a hassle. His hair was once a darker shade- nearly black but due to shock at hearing his former lover had been murdered by his vengeful wife- turned it white with shock overnight. Currently his hair has been cut haphazardly, and short. His eyes are a brilliant red and thoughtful- though there is a certain weariness that can be seen in them. Physique & Markings Strong and lithe- the Duke retains the physique of being a Dragoon though he has long since retired. His body however bears the many scars of his repeated attempts at death. There is hardly a piece of skin on his body that has not been marred in some manner by his attempts- resulting in a heavily scarred body that he tends to keep covered as much as possible with his clothing though he's not particularly shy about his appearance- he simply does not wish to cause disgust in others at the sight of it. His hands in particular are scarred, and sensitive- and these he nearly always keeps covered no matter the circumstance. After a recent encounter with his revived wife- Antoinette- he returned with an even more mangled body. His right eye had been stabbed- resulting in his need to wear an eyepatch until it's determined how well his curse has managed to heal the damage. As well new stab wounds he received as 'punishment'- Antoinette also hastily and crudely carved an extravagant letter 'A' in his chest- to serve as a warning to his current lover. Hygiene & Attire Always well-kept and maintained, the Duke makes sure to have exceptional hygiene due partially to his noble upbringing but also due to his propensity to be mortally injured often and not wishing to disrupt others by smelling of blood and otherwise unpleasant odors that may come from his attempts at death. He often smells of cinnamon and chocolate thanks to his constant baking of treats for his family, though someone with a discerning nose maybe be able detect a hint of blood and just... something a bit off due to his curse though it's not overly offensive and usually well masked. His attire likewise is always well-maintained and he prefers an elegant, refined look. Tight, yet easy to move in. Typically he prefers for intricate and extravagant looks though he has recently toned things down to give off a more typical "family man" look. He does however own an extensive amount of clothing due to his immortality and age- he always tries to keep up with the latest fashions and trends so as not to appear a total weirdo wearing outdated clothing, and he refuses to get rid of anything in the off chance it comes back into style. Personality Psychological Profile The Duke, despite coming across to most as a well put together man who simply loves making friends- is actually always balancing on the line between sanity and insanity. Beneath his friendly exterior lies a world of issues stemming from his immortal life, even without going into the problems that arose from his heavily abusive marriage prior to being cursed. He's prone to suicidal urges, and if he's pushed too hard, he's likely to leave society until he can get himself and his urges under control which often means trying to find any way possible that he might finally find his peace and his death. Having loved and lost many over the course of his some thousand year odd life, he has a tendency to become nervous and distraught when he finds himself in a relationship, fearing the eventuality of his loved one's death, once more leaving him alone once more. His children's death in particular is a scar that has never been able to heal and for many centuries he refused to have any children of his own- though it was not that hard considering his preference for male partners. It's only been recently, in his relationship with Dracyn Navarre who had twins from his prior marriage, that the Duke has taken steps in overcoming his fears and the damage on his psyche to be the father (that he truly enjoys being) towards Josette and Westley. While he is open about most of his issues, as a way to explain to those who may grow close to him his tendency to be distant when a friendship grows, he often attempts to brush off his issues as not that serious, and tries to remain light-hearted so as not to upset others. Very few ever see him in the depths of his insanity, as he's deeply ashamed of how he acts when he is despairing. Voice His voice is soft, though slightly gravelly due to injuries to his throat. He tends to still retain a bit of an elegant accent, that comes from his Ishgardian upbringing. While most would assume it's a modern day Ishgardian accent- someone who studies accents and language would likely pick up it's an older accent, that differs slightly from then most typical Ishgardians. It's faded over the centuries he's been alive, but there are still tinges of it left. Philosophy & Mannerisms . He can be injured, and due to the nature of his curse he cannot be healed as readily as others- curative spells and normal potions do not work on him. He can be injured to the point where he needs to retreat, though admittedly his pain tolerance is pretty high and he can keep fighting, but he's smart enough to know when enough is enough.

(●) - Description Deceased Etienne Navarre, Lover. ♥✝ - First Love Description Minette &Alitte Children. ✔✝ - On a cold winter's night in Coerthas, out on patrol- the Duke, known then as Lord Lucien- stumbled across two half-frozen orphans- a boy and a girl. Beside them lay their parents corpses, and the two children were nearly half dead themselves- but shrouded in all manner of ragged cloaks to obscure their faces. Unable to leave two defenseless children alone, Lucien took them in- bringing them back to his post and hiding them in his quarters. It was when he began to assess their condition- taking off the rags they bore for clothing did he realize the extent of what he had done. These were not Elezen children- nor were they the hyur. They bore the scales, horns and tails of the very enemies he as a decorated dragoon swore to fight. At a loss, but unable and unwilling to kill defenseless children, he quickly bathed and clothed them- tending to their wounds before putting in word for immediate leave back to Ishgard. Once there, through gentle coaxing- The Duke was able to find out that the two children were not natives of Eorzea- the little girl having drown a crude drawing of a battered ship at sea to explain how they ended up in Eorzea. Despite this, he knew there was no manner of convincing the Holy See- all of Ishgard for that matter, that they were harmless. Nonetheless, despite having been the Head of his House for quite some time- he went to his father and pleaded for advice and help. "You truly believe... they shall not harm Ishgard? You risk your name, your very life on this my son?" "Father... I have never been sure of anything more in mine entire life. There is nothing... nothing my heart desires more than to shelter them, and be the father they have lost. I know, truly- that they are nothing more than frightened children." "You have never asked for anything, have you, Lucien? All your life. Even at your most miserable moments- you oblige all who plead with you... Well, it would be my honor as your father to finally give you what you desire." It is unknown what manner of negotiation his father handled, but the children were allowed to stay under the strictest of supervision- and were commanded at all times to keep their visages hidden. Christened Minette, and Alitte- the two grew up as any Ishgardian child- though heavily doted upon by their father. Antoinette- his wife- was none too pleased by her husband's sudden adoption and often schemed to find ways to hurt or otherwise murder them without being caught. Sensing his wife's hatred- Lucien ordered for the children to live in separate apartments from the main house- promising them that when the time came to take over their duties, he would still keep them protected from her wrath. Minette grew up bold and brash, wishing nothing more than to pay back the kindness her father had shown her, often begging to become a dragoon as he. However instead she quickly took up metalworking, learning how to craft jewelry and mending armor. Alitte, shy and withdrawn as a child followed in his father's footsteps as a dragoon and in fact fought alongside him before both of the Duke's children forced him into retirement due to concerns over his health. Their deaths of old age were the catalyst for the Duke realizing Antoinette had placed a immortal curse upon him, in his grief over their death led to him plunging into Witchdrop to no avail. Though neither Minette or Alitte were aware of much of their Au Ra heritage, specifically their Raen heritage- it has been in recent years their descendants have moved to research their background and now often take on more Raen typical names. While they themselves never lived to see a day where Au Ra were welcomed in Ishgard- it was the Duke's defense and love of them both that led to him campaigning over many centuries to lessen the discrimination and outright slaughter of any Au ra that may have passed through Ishgard. Today, their descendants are less Au ra in appearance due to marriages with Hyurs and Elezens, and many have lost the scales on their face and body while still retaining their horns and tails. Despite this, the family still remains heavily shrouded in secrecy and rarely appear in public without some manner of covering to obscure themselves.
