GENERAL INFORMATION

Ucugen is a young Xaela who haled from the former Hotgo tribe that made it's living upon the impressive steppes of Othard, and a fairly typical specimen when it comes to such matters. As a twice over refugee, first from the Dotharl aggression against her people which left only a scant few alive to tell the tale and secondly from the Garlean Empire's widening dominion over the steppes, she is much like a fish thrown out of it's favorite pond. Heavily accented, unable to read the new languages that Eorzea is host to, and just barely passable when it comes to speaking said languages, she sticks out like a sore thumb. Made all the more obvious by her clearly lack luster attire and lack of any permanent domicile. Add into that her terrible stutter and you have yourself the image of a young woman, barely grown, struggling mightily to simply keep her head above water while trying to adapt to all the curves that life has thrown her way.

APPEARANCE

Fairly tall for a female Au'Ra, Ucugen stands about 5 fulms and 5 ilms tall with a small smattering of muscle dotting her otherwise willow-like frame. Skin dark purple in color, with darker blue horns, and a platinum colored mane of hair she is far from an atypical representation of her sub-race - everything from her red with orange tinged limal eyes being well within the borders of possibility. What is odd, however, is the ever present smattering of paint that etches across her flesh. Like most Hotgo she observes the custom of facial painting to express her emotions at any given time. Unlike most, however, she extends this practice to the rest of her body as well. Her entire body a canvas of various floral and mandala esqe shapes that changes often and almost always on a whim of fancy. The only thing that never changes however, is a painted white flower upon her left shoulder. Which she diligently redoes with each passing morn.

Aspects That Stand Out:

■ She always, without fail, has a white bloom painted upon her left shoulder. Other Xaela would know it as a white flower that grew in the northern reaches of the steppes.

■ Like all Hotgo, her skin paints generally reflect her current or daily mood. Observant people would be able to tell the styles and colors for what they are once they grow to know her.

■ Under the white bloom is a twisted mass of scar tissue that few ever get to see. Likewise all up and down her legs and arms are various cuts from sword wounds and one burn mark on her right calf.

■ Most of her body paint is water resistant, so it takes a good bit of scrubbing to remove and is unlikely to bleed when it rains.

PERSONALITY

(WIP)

Fairly timid at first glance, the Hotgo shows a decent amount of inner strength when observed for any length of time. Yet in spite of this she is still easily startled and some form of former trauma seems to have made her more waif like in temperament which is at odds with the rare glimpses of stubbornness and the hard edge that sometimes settles within her eyes that should not belong to one so young. The girl has had a hard life and it shows in every movement, every laugh, every smile, every frown and more. When she is with new people she is overly cautious and suspicious, not showing them her back and watching them like a hawk for any sign of treachery. Yet once she has grown to know someone or learned to let her guard down, she becomes very sweet and almost playful; teasing and plotting tricks for the amusement of the one who has earned her regard.

As she grows accustomed to Eorzea and it's culture more of her personality might reveal itself, but for now she is still well within her personal shell. Unwilling to let all but a few glimpse at what lay beneath. The good, the bad, and the decidedly gut wrenching.

Bonded to Ucugen and no one else, the pair spent many a day flying across the steppes until their skin lashed raw from the wind. OOC INFORMATION Player Note I have a very clear distinction when it comes to OOC/IC. They must remain separate at all times if we are to RP together, especially on an extended basis and I reserve the right to end interactions should this be impeded upon. I've been burnt heavily by people mistaking IC care and OOC friendship and attention with romantic regard and honestly I don't wish to go through another such debacle once more. If my character dislikes yours that does not mean I hold the same sentiment. If my character loves yours that does not translate to me feeling the same for you, though I might feel a platonic equivalent. I am not my characters and they are not me. Respect this and we shall get along famously. Personal RP Limits I don't have very many hardcore limits honestly as I feel consequences must be adhered to when RPing any character regardless of whom they might be. However there are a few exceptions to this and they are as follows. ■ I will play Almost anything that isn't described below. ■ Ask about Death, rape, and maiming plot-hooks. I am willing to do almost all of them, but these need a special reason to be initiated - especially the first two. I have no issues with my characters being maimed however and only require a brief talking to for it, so long as fair play is established and the offender accepts retaliation is likely. ■ I won't play Anything where the above rules are not observed. CHARACTER TIDBITS Potential Plot Hooks While the below is by no means comprehensive, it's a kind of spring board for walk-up RP. ■ Ucugen is a Hotgo and does nothing to hide that fact. Any dotharl players and indeed, other Xaela, would know what tribe she belonged to. ■ Ucugen is a poison maker and allowed herself to be pulled into a dastardly plot in order to escape the destruction in Othard by the Garlean Empire. It's very likely that people might have heard of someone that fits her description being a poisoner for hire at one point.
