===Personality===
+
: Determined and forthcoming, blunt and well-worded, analytical but fraught with conclusions too quickly leapt to. Despite his intelligence he remains incredibly naive, and it is incredibly easy to push his buttons. As in incredibly easy. He is quick to anger, and hard to calm. Once he is fired up, he won't hesitate to run a man through for his poor phrasing. Not one moment. However, when not quite so angry, he takes to flirting and joking, and often attempting to stir up trouble.

Ciaran was never much one for battling. Instead, he took after his mother and father, and trained in the Old World art of Astrology. His father often used Ciaran for research purposes, however, and as a result he was always sickly and weak, and never trained in the art of battle. He learned to cast detrimental spells, but none he could use without his star globe.

:₪ '''Star Globe''': Ciaran mainly uses his star globe, as that is generally the main tool of an Astrologian. However, it sometimes proves inadequate.

: '''Dagger''': Ciaran often has a dagger hidden in a fold of his robe, since magics are not always so readily available.

:: He was born in Sharlayan to a man named Eideard and a woman named Vividii. Eideard was a Sharayan scholar and Vividi was a dancer from Ul'dah. Ciaran spent his childhood studying with other Sharlayan children. He resided in the Answering Quarter nearby to Saint Moccaine’s Arboretum with his parents for some time. His mother was very kind, though she fell ill only when he was seven. Eideard, however, had other ideas.

::Noticing a definitive lack of records on lalafellin tolerances to pain, poisons, and other things such as lung capacity, Eideard found the perfect test subject: Ciaran.

:: Vividi knew what was happening to her son, and when he was twelve she arranged to have him smuggled out of Sharlayan and to the Saigoli desert. She had family there that would take care of him, and not being a citizen of Sharlayan she had little legal ability to protect her son. Eideard caught wind of the plan the night that the two of them were going to leave. As Vividi led Ciaran out through the city-state and to the pass to the Forelands, Eideard attacked the two of them. Without hesitation, Ciaran was shoved into the wagon that waited for them, and the driver took off. Eideard was still focused on Vividi by the time Ciaran was out of their sights, and them out of his.

:: Determined to do as his mother asked rather than return, he traveled to Tailfeather and quickly hopped onto a wagon carrying chocobos to Ishgard. From there he arranged for transport to the Shroud, and from there to Thanalan. His goal was to make it to the Saigoli desert and find Vividi’s family, yet as he crossed over Highbridge he ran into trouble. On the way down from the Shroud and to Camp Drybone, he was grabbed off the road by a Roegadyn traveling with three chocobos all carrying large packs. He was a wanderer and a trader, and wore a rusted old shortsword on his side, and he intended to keep Ciaran.

The two of them traveled through Thanalan together, Rostnskylt on his way to the Silver Bazaar. On the way, he taught Ciaran the art of swordplay and how to care for the chocobos.

Ciaran helped out with the heavy lifting and with caring for his chocobos until he was seventeen. Rostnskylt became a father to Ciaran in that time-- the father that Ciaran never had. A letter came to Rostnskylt one day. His family needed help in La Noscea, and Ciaran could not come with. As Rostnskylt boarded the ferry to leave, he left Sorghum and his sword with the Lalafell and told him to speak with a man named Jenlyns.

:: '''Eideard Cadeyrn''' (Father, Deceased) (Lalafell, Dunesfolk)

::: Ciaran's father who performed innumerable gruesome experiments upon his son, the foremost being an attempt to fuse an egi with Ciaran, and others being testing the limits of a lalafell's pain tolerance, and lalafellin lung capacity. He died at Carteneau.

:: '''Medb Cadeyrn''' (Mother, Deceased) (Lalafell, Dunesfolk)
+
:: After having traveled to Ul’dah, he spoke to Jenlyns and mentioned having been friends with Rostnskylt. The two were old friends, which allowed Ciaran the opportunity of being trained under the Sultansworn. At the age of 22, he was accepted into their ranks.
::: Ciaran's mother-- a beautiful Ul'dahn woman. She was a dancer before Ciaran's father took interest in her and married her. She, as opposed to Eideard, was a Thaumaturge rather than an Astrologian, though she learned the art of Astrology soon after marrying Eideard. She died of an "illness" when Ciaran was only four. Investigations suggested she was murdered by a mage...

::: A boy of but hardly 15, excited to see the world, his father wondered if it was possible to take the essence of a primal and infuse it with a ''sentient'' being rather than forge it into an egi. With the assistance of three skilled Arcanists, Ciaran and his father traveled alongside a Summoner to Thanalan, where his father killed her. She was hardly older than Ciaran himself when his father cut her life short. With the assistance of the Arcanists, they entrapped her Ifrit-egi, unraveling it, and took its essence, and attempted to forge it into Ciaran. While his father stood by and observed the reaction without a care in the world as to if his son died or not, Ciaran suffered at the intrusion of the foreign aether. Nearly losing consciousness during the process and remaining at death's door for the next several days, he managed to survive the ordeal and contain the essence of Ifrit (or at least a small piece of it), at the cost of his left eye turning yellow and the beginning of a streak of having a nasty temper. Despite how it sounds, he gets very little out of it-- only a higher body temperature and the ability to spit out flames from time to time, as well as a nasty case of PTSD.

: Testing the Limits

::: Another one of Eideard's research ideas was to test the limits of lalafell pain tolerance. There seemed to be extensive records of this for all races besides, but it seemed no one ever had the heart to document a lalafell's reaction to torture. Naturally, Ciaran was the test subject, and was put through various tests. In one, he nearly drowned the boy to test lalafellin lung capacity, and in another he repeatedly lashed Ciaran to record his reactions. Ciaran now has a deep-rooted fear of large bodies of water, and scars all across his back. The Forum was quite thankful for the information Eideard had gathered, though none stopped to question how exactly he acquired it...

::: When he was 18, and hardly old enough to fight, he joined Eorzean forces to repel the Garlean forces at Carteneau. Whilst there, his father was on the frontlines, and was crushed by debris as Dalamud began to crumble. After his father died, and seeing the immediate danger of Dalamud collapsing, he booked it to Ishgard for safety, watching from within the safe confines of Daniffen's Collar as the lesser moon exploded and lay waste to Eorzea.

::: Consumed by the insatiable rage that came with being infused with an egi, Ciaran snapped and laid waste to an entire encampment of traveling merchants. It could not have been more than ten men, whom hardly anyone cared for, yet the ridicule stays with him today.

Appearance & Personality

Short and with fairly tanned skin, pink short hair, and bright mismatched eyes betray his intelligence and heritage. There is nothing his height will bar him from doing either... Quite literally.
Determined and forthcoming, blunt and well-worded, analytical but fraught with conclusions too quickly leapt to.

Biography

Childhood
He was born in Sharlayan to a man named Eideard and a woman named Vividii.
Noticing a definitive lack of records on lalafellin tolerances to pain, poisons, and other things such as lung capacity, Eideard found the perfect test subject: Ciaran.
Teenage
Several years followed in which Ciaran was no more than a research subject. Scarred all across his body and terrified of his father, he was miserable. The Forum was of course thankful for the information Eideard gathered, but none were curious as to how he acquired it.
Vividi knew what was happening to her son, and when he was twelve she arranged to have him smuggled out of Sharlayan and to the Saigoli desert.
Determined to do as his mother asked rather than return, he traveled to Tailfeather and quickly hopped onto a wagon carrying chocobos to Ishgard.
At first he feared the Roegadyn, whose name was Rostnskylt. However, after only a few days, it became clear that Rostnskylt only wanted someone to help carry his bags and manage the chocobos. The two of them traveled through Thanalan together, Rostnskylt on his way to the Silver Bazaar. On the way, he taught Ciaran the art of swordplay and how to care for the chocobos.
Once at the Silver Bazaar, Rostnskylt settled there for some time with his three chocobos, Boris, Sorghum, and Cerys.

Present

After having traveled to Ul’dah, he spoke to Jenlyns and mentioned having been friends with Rostnskylt. The two were old friends, which allowed Ciaran the opportunity of being trained under the Sultansworn. At the age of 22, he was accepted into their ranks.
Currently teaches at the Imaginarium-- a school run by an eccentric man named Fabius Dandy.
