P E R S O N A L I T Y
The woman's sun-kissed appearance belies a frosty persona. Ahris puts on a polite, civil facade to strangers, clients, and acquaintances. Friends and underlings alike will find themselves exposed to her domineering habits undertoned with caustic wit. While intelligent, her own overconfidence can often leave gaping holes in her plans that she doesn't bother to look for.

Another defining trait is her greed. It presents most often as simple stinginess with her coin, though that is only the ankle's depth of the matter. Intertwined desires for wealth, knowledge, and the power that comes with the two run deep within the Auri woman. Ahris often finds herself willingly entering the maws of danger in search of new tomes, trinkets of power, and/or mundane treasure. Her activities in the Ul'Dah markets are related (See rumors).

T A L E N T S
Arcane Jack of All Trades / Red Mage: Ahris has spent nearly the entirety of her adult life studying the various forms of magic practiced throughout the world. When expecting combat, the Auri will be seen with the minimum of an Astrolabe, Grimoire, and one-handed Brand. From each school Ahris borrows what she regards as the most useful facets, but this diverse approach has left her without true mastery in any one field.

Academics: Her study of magic is tightly linked to a core thirst for knowledge that her years in Sharlayan were not able to slake. Ahris has a mind well suited to gathering and retaining information, so long as that information isn't meaningless trivia such as names or the state of peoples' various family members. She has lots of friends, trust her. For all her intellect though, she tends to miss important details.

Stealth and Sleight of Hand: While she never studied amongst the ninja of Doma herself, Ahris had family who did. As she would put it "Remaining unnoticed is a talent that is passed from one family member to another, like a certain sense of humor." Like most of her abilities Ahris doesn't have any true mastery of sneaking. It is enough to avoid the layperson and even the more alert of watchmen, but pales in comparison to the skills of a dedicated thief.
E Q U I P M E N T
Ahris keeps a variety of useful arcane devices on her person to compensate for shortcomings in her abilities. To avoid the New Powers as the Plot Demands breed of bad writing, I'll keep a rigid description of what she has, what it can do, and what its limitations are listed here. All items marked with (Forged) are things that she has made herself, though her talents with enchanting are clumsy at best. These objects will literally burn out when they are used and require replacement afterwards. Additionally, she can only have one of each enchantment type attuned to herself at a time. Replacements, even when she has one ready made, take hours to prepare.

Slow Fall Anklet (Forged): A gold chain worn around her right ankle contains a enchantment that briefly slows her falls. As it is tuned to her body weight, the anklet is less effective when used while she is carrying a heavy load or otherwise weighed down.

Shield Ring (Forged): On activation, a plain gold band worn on Ahris' right hand instantly casts an empowered Adloquium that lasts for a few seconds. It is capable of withstanding all but the most powerful of attacks.

Veil: One of the most potent artifacts that Ahris has acquired in her travels, the deceptively thin fabric of the veil houses a powerful illusion. The spells woven into the fabric influence the memory of those who look upon her while she is wearing it. Most will struggle to remember what Ahris looked like beyond vague facts such as "a dark skinned Au Ra." The veil is not without its weaknesses, though. Spells meant to pierce illusions render it useless. Also, anyone who has seen Ahris without the veil and dedicated her features to memory will not be affected by the enchantments (passing glances are not sufficient, though even a brief conversation is.)

Force Bracelet (Forged): Worn on her right wrist, this second gold chain is enchanted to deliver a kick of ghostly momentum to one object within close proximity to Ahris. Due to her unrefined talents, the spell also gives her an equivalent punch in the opposite direction. It can send an object of Ahris' approximate weight flying twenty fulms.

A Short Word on Antagonism
As noted in my search comment, I would be happy to play the villain in many plotlines. Ahris has a potent combination of greed and hubris backed up by a keen but sometimes incomplete intellect.


Potential Plot Hooks
Characters with a background in Sharlayan may recognize Ahris.
Ahris will often invite herself to ruins, crypts, or the manors of the wealthy in search of items she deems valuable.
Characters who spend substantial time interacting with the Ul'Dah investment market may notice Ahris as a frequent observer of affairs.
