In Recent Times Moving Forward As other Doman refugees flocked to Mor Dhona, Kazukata instead became a vagrant, wandering Eorzea doing whatever odd jobs he could. Still feeling both the loss of Doma and recovering from his own injuries, he barely eked out a living, largely living from drink to drink. But as he spent his days wallowing in misery, he would occasionally hear stories. At first, he would just idly listen to ballads retelling whatever heroics the Hero of Light had done that week or hear an occasional story about Eorzea's other, lesser-known heroes, but eventually, he began to seek these stories out, even going so far as to use some of his drinking money to convince the local bard to sing just one more song. The more he heard, the more Kazukata was inspired by the denizens of Eorzea and came to care about their struggles. Their strength, capable of even throwing off the Garleans, as well as their tempered will, awoke Kazukata from his stupor and gave him something he had been missing since he had left Doma: hope. After a year of wandering and wallowing, Kazukata once more took up his spear and resolved to become an adventurer capable of defending his new home and inspiring others as he had been.
