Once a dedicated hunter for his clan, he now resides on a small island off Kugane's coast with his Raen wife making a living as a part-time fisherman and messenger for merchant ships. O-haru Ejinn, Mother. ( ✔ ) O-haru is Solis' Raen mother and was the daughter of an important bureaucrat in Kugane. She was disowned by her family when she insisted on marrying Solis' father. Unbeknownst to her, she had been promised to another Raen bureaucrat's son and that she would willingly marry a Xaela of unknown rank was disgraceful to her family. Having been brought up in a wealthy home, O-haru's dreamy and flighty nature would often put her new young famiy into financial trouble. Money which should have been saved was spent on pretty trinkets, books of all kinds, and fabrics to make impractical clothing. Young Solis loved his mother but was resentful of her reckless spending and insensitivity towards his father's hardships. His resentfulness came to a head one day at age 8 when his sick father was forced to venture into stormy seas to work so he could pay for a new batch of jewelry purchases.
