During his training as a Dragoon, he was dispatched towards Doma as they had asked for help;
a dragon was terrorising the Azim Steppes. There, he met Fiore. One thing led to another and she wouldn't leave his side, travelling back to Eorzea with him. He developed some feelings for her, but as he's as dense as a rock he hasn't quite realised it yet.
