Gareki Yukimura is an engineer from Othard born of mixed blood between a hyur with dravanian blood and a miqo'te. He also has a heavy background in scientific knowledge and is well-trained in all crafting disciplines. Because he's young, he's still learning and is currently serving as a student of the Skysteel Manufactory to improve his skills as a machinist. He's also very handy with a bow and enjoys long-ranged combat. He isn't very good at magic nor does he possess a lot of strength or bulk, but his agility and sharp eye when it comes to shooting makes him a formidable opponent.

Noticeably shorter than most males, Gareki has a small build and stature, but his lean body and high agility more than compensate for his faults. He emits a pleasant aroma when he's in heat, but because he has a mate, it only really affects Klair and remains neutral for everyone else in range. He has a few faded scars on his body but nothing noticeable, marks he'd gained from years of hunting and living in the forest. His hands are noticeably very rough and calloused, sometimes bandaged or full of cuts from constantly working with them. He favors wearing goggles on his head like Cid and dresses very practical. His tail is also very fluffy and long, a definitive Yukimura trait, and he has slitted eyes (which harkens to his Dravanian heritage).

Biography

Born in Utakata on Othard, he was only one of three males in his Miqo'te tribe, the other two being Yamato and Shiro. Shiro had a mate from another Keeper tribe, and Yamato was far too old, making Gareki the only available male for breeding. Because Megumi didn't want her brother to be used and wanted him to have his own independence and autonomy, she didn't allow any of the other miqo'te to mate with him.

His mother, Ouka, was the former head of their tribe and a strong beast hunter who specialized in a samurai-style of combat and medicine. His father, Ibuki, was a hyur and a dragoon from lands unknown. The both of them passed away in battle, one that Gareki knows little of, but he'd been protected by both Megumi and Yamato. Since then, he grew up without knowing much of his parents except through tales the tribe would share with him.

He also met Klair when he was about three years-old and Klair was six. A mysterious injury had left Klair on the brink of death, but Ouka employed Gareki to play junior nurse while he was with them and Klair healed under their careful watch. Gareki reunited with Klair years later when he was thirteen and when Megumi began a relationship with Klair's best friend and confidante, Jhi'a. Though Gareki had a crush on Klair then, he didn't speak much of it and pined over him from afar for several years until he reached breeding age.

In spite of being male, he shares a lot of unusual attributes with the females in his tribe and can emit pheromones which lead him to starting a relationship with Klair while he began to pursue his engineering training more seriously. He spent much of his teenage years traveling around Othard and learning from great smiths and crafters. He also graduated from using bows for hunting to firearms and cannons, many of which he built himself. He then learned how to construct and outfit small airships using a lot of the engineering manuals from Cid's Ironworks.

Since his dream had been to meet and study under Cid personally, he decided to venture out towards Eorzea with Kitsuno, but a horrible attack had caused their ship to crash in Eastern Thanalan while Gareki had changed into a female as the result of an experiment gone awry aboard said airship. The fantasia he'd been tinkering with had gained an increased potency that had altered his form in a way that could only be undone temporarily with Megumi's help. His body is still unstable and capable of swapping between the two, but mentally, he identifies as solely male.

Romantic Interest

♥♥ Klair Gavin - Mate and lover. They met as young children and had kept running into one another until they developed a deep attraction to each other. They began a sexual relationship two years ago and then completed an eternal bonding ceremony when Gareki turned eighteen. Klair is Gareki's most trusted confidante and the person he can be himself the most around. He would easily die for him if it came to that. He's working hard to help restore Klair's memories and get him back to his real home and family, though he fears Klair will one day realize he can do better in terms of partners and leave him for someone more like himself.

Platonic Love

♥ Megumi Yukimura - Gareki's older sister by three years. She's the head of their tribe and very kind and selfless in spite of her brash demeanor. Gareki thinks she treats everyone distantly because she's afraid to get hurt and worries he may have learned that same habit from her, but he knows how much cares for her tribe and family. Their mutual stubbornness leads to lots of bickering between them.

♥ Shiro Yukimura - Gareki's cousin who is currently a moogle.

Good Standing

♦ Layle Yew - Megumi's slave. Gareki does think of him much like a brother in spite of how he talks to him and treat him. He would gladly fight by his side if he ever needed to.

♦ Jhi'a Feng - Megumi's old lover. A disgusting pervert of a philanderer, but Gareki respects his intellect.

♦ N'okhu Hoshiki - AKA Ariel Caius. A young Seeker who was adopted into the tribe just a few years ago after Klair found him alone and wandering the desert.

♦ Ryuh'a Hoshiki - A young Keeper who was adopted into the tribe before Auriel.

♦ Rhaeya Ohska - One of Gareki's tribemates. Gareki thinks her head is full of hot air and very little else.

♦ Chousen Dia - One of Gareki's tribemates. Gareki disapproves of her loose affections and is often worried that Klair will end up with her instead.

♦ Wen Liu - Kitsuno's old lover and bodyguard. Garekin finds him weak-willed and very submissive.

♦ Ginrou - Gareki's pet hawk. It used to belong to Ouka when she was alive, now he takes care of it.
