General Information When one looks upon Lhei'li, they would probably first mistake him for a woman: short and slight of build, soft dark hair and skin, and large blue eyes makes him out to be a delicate creature not unlike a doll. However, with the flintlocke at his side and an ancient codex in hand, it's clear that Lhei'li is more than a pretty face. He bears a serious, "get-the-job-done" standoffish countenance and a sharp tongue that is not afraid to insult you to next Tuesday. And yet, despite the fact that he has a look about him that says he's not afraid to get dirty - or play dirty - for his work, he will always introduce himself the same way: that he's simply a wandering scholar ever on the pursuit of knowledge. ❝ Quote. ❞ Appearance Eyes Hair Skin Build Voice Heterochromatic blue. Black, violet tinge. Dark. Scrawny. Baritone. Bearing Laterality Scars Markings Style Stiff, confident. Right-handed. Several on torso. Tribal tattoos. Clean. Hair & Eyes •Dark and feathery, Lhei'li's hair gives away his late night endeavors in either his studies or whatever he happens to be focused on at that point in time. It's constantly messy, yet has a sheen to it that hints at excellent care, and is soft to the touch. The only thing that mars its complete darkness are a small collection of white strands that seem to grow out of his right temple; he tends to hide these, but they're known to pop out from time to time, especially during windy days or vigorous activity. His hair is always long and almost always in a tight braid for one sole reason: to keep his glasses upright. •Lhei'li's eyes are almond shaped, bearing large blue eyes that are reminiscent of a clear sky. His right eye is of a lighter shade than his left, and seems to almost glow at times, even in the dark. Physique & Markings •With how many scars litter his body — most of them being from puncture wounds or burns — one would think that Lhei'li is physically able to put up a fight… and, to some degree, they would not be wrong. Lhei'li's body is built for speed, as is evident from his skill with hunting knives, and he at least has enough strength to lift both a book twice the size of his head and a flintlocke. However fast he is, though, Lhei'li is very unhealthy due to lack of nourishment and sleep-- this means his endurance is shit and he has very little muscle mass, so he'd probably go down in one, maybe two well-placed hits. •Clean as he appears, Lhei'li is still a miqo'te with a tribal background. Tribal tattoos litter his chest and back, filled with deep meanings and prayers, though he refuses to admit what they are. The only tattoo he doesn't actively hide is the one on his forehead: a single mark in the shape of a teardrop. Hygiene & Attire •Cleanliness is something of a vice to Lhei'li: if there is one thing he'd splurge on that isn't a rare tome, it's the best soaps and shampoos currently on the market. Because of this, his skin and hair is ridiculously soft, almost what you would expect from a high-end courtesan instead of a scholar. While he isn't afraid to get down and dirty for any reason, if he spends more than twenty-four hours without a bath, he starts feeling uncomfortable. •There are two rules Lhei'li follows when he decides on his wardrobe: they must be suitable for both business and travel (combat optional), and they must cover his tattoos. Lhei'li's style is as clean as his hygiene, tends to be filled with neutral or dark colors, and is rarely adorned with any sort of jewels or obnoxious designs. The most he will allow are gold accents. Personality Psychological Profile Lhei'li is a man who carries himself with dignity. When looking upon him, it's obvious he's a man who either puts "work" before "play", or actually considers "work" to be "play": he rarely smiles and almost always has a look upon his face that says he's judging you. Occasionally he'll make a wisecrack at someone or pop a dry joke in here and there, but most of the time, he's 100% serious business. It tends to be something of a killjoy. Voice Lhei'li bears a baritone voice, deep and no-nonsense, typically hinting at no inner emotion when speaking with others. Only in certain instances does it deviate from its business-esque tone when in public company, and it's usually to offer a sarcastic remark in the driest tone he can muster (which is usually comparable to the dryness of the Sagolii Desert). If paying close enough attention, one can catch the slightest hint of an accent in his speech, but he actively tries to hide it; s'got a ten'ncy to cum oot more 'en Lhei'li's unner de 'nfluence a' drugs 'r a'co'ol. Philosophy & Mannerisms Once past his 'all-business-all-the-time' front, people will find that he was once called "Slayer" for a reason. Lhei'li is a little — or a lot — more savage than he lets on, and he isn't afraid of getting his hands dirty, whether they're caked in dirt and grime or slicked with the blood of his enemy. The Borhsau clan is infamous among the Twelveswood for being ruthless and bloodthirsty, and Lhei'li is no exception after having grown up in that environment. Very rarely does he show a more caring side, as it's only reserved for those who've not only earned his trust but kept it, but when he does show it, he presents an almost brotherly love towards that person, doing the utmost he can to help them in any way. Good luck getting him to admit to his kindness, though. He was a constant in Lhei'li's early life, homeschooling him and teaching him everything he knew about arcanima. Despite how much he cares for the man, Yhah'sae is still insistent on hiding his past from Lhei'li, which has strained their relationship in the later years. Lhei Borhsau (NPC) ♡ ✖ - Lhei'li's mother. What Yhah'sae taught Lhei'li in brains, Lhei taught him in brawn, as he was able to develop his skills in hunting through her. Despite that, their relationship was strained since the beginning; his mother was heavily traditional and insisted on Lhei'li being the "perfect breeder male" to represent the Borhsau clan, and also obviously valued her daughters more than her sons, as she was more than ready to leave Lhei'li to die during the Calamity. Okhi Borhsau (NPC) ♦ ✔ - Lhei'li's older sister, and the yin to his yang. She's unique among the rest of his siblings in that she shares Yhah'sae as a father, and thus is the sibling he is closest to. She became a conjurer for Stillglade Fane under a different name (since the Borhsau name isn't exactly well-liked) and although she constantly reassures Lhei'li that nothing is going on, he is more than ready to cut someone up if they dared to upset her. Beruht'a Jharaji ♦ ✔ - Cousin by blood, brother by bond. Beruht'a is Lhei'li's cousin on his mother's side (his uncle Dohj'a is Beruht'a's father), though they had not known this until some time after Beruht'a established himself within the Skytrade. The two had gone through much and more, and their bond had grown to a point where Lhei'li held the honor of officiating Beruht'a's wedding. Zevet Jharaji ♦ ✔ - Beruht'a's husband and Lhei'li's cousin-in-law… or brother-in-law, however you want to look at it. After their experiences with the Manticores, Lhei'li has no issue admitting that Zevet is just as much family as Beruht'a is, and will cut a bitch if anyone dares to antagonize him, just as he would for anyone else he cares for. Acquaintances Ren Carver ღ ♦ ♡ - Lhei'li's boyfriend… or so he wonders. Sometime during the Manticores' final days, Ren departed for his own personal reasons, promising to write Lhei'li…and that was the last time he'd seen him. The two do keep in touch, and Lhei'li still VERY MUCH cares for him, but Lhei'li is also slowly beginning to question the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder". Kei Aozora ✔ ● - A fellow Manticore from the Skytrade's heyday. The two of them had many ups and downs both towards each other and towards them while part of the crew. While there are some things he resents about her, Lhei'li has no strong feelings towards her, so she's nestled comfortably in neutral territory for him. Cohno'ra Vukoja ● - A street rat Lhei'li's run into once or twice. He has no real problems with him, and considers him a decent enough guy to be around (once he can get past the smell of fogweed). Former Acquaintances Hanamochi Akagane (NPC) ✔ ♦ ♡ - Lhei'li's partner-in-crime when he worked for Mealvaan's Gate. Oafish and the literal opposite of Lhei'li's own personality, it's a wonder how the two of them developed the bond they did, as they were well-known as an inseparable dynamic duo. Akagane was also the source of Lhei'li's yet-to-be-discovered, -ahem- preference for larger, stronger partners. Tristanaud Lemieux ✔● - Lhei'li's ex-boss. Despite his sudden departure and retirement from the Manticores, Lhei'li is still ever thankful for Trist giving him the opportunities he did. Because of this, he will never truly think ill of the man and will always consider him the Captain of the Manticores. Clyde Walker ♡ ✖ - Lhei'li's ex, if only because shortly after Clyde made his move on him, he vanished during a point where Lhei'li needed companionship more than ever. The only time he's heard from him was several months later when Clyde just as suddenly returned to the Den to speak with Lhei'li, who was promptly dragged away by Beruht'a and Zevet. Lhei'li is more upset with himself than with Clyde for letting his guard down in the first place, and seeing the man would undoubtedly instantly spur ire within him. Deceased Quill Danvarre ♦ ✔ ♦ - A friend and ally of Lhei'li's from the Skytrade days who was killed, his body only recently discovered. Lhei'li had personally trained Quill in navigation and star-reading, and had assisted in Quill's interest in engineering. He's seen firsthand how incredible Quill was intellectually despite his origins, and was willing to do just about whatever it takes for Quill to reach his potential. Despite this, however, Lhei'li always seems to regard his gruesome murder with disinterest.

If something is on the play list, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. Feel free to ask! ■ "You're from the WHAT clan?!" The Borhsau clan is known among some Keeper tribes and the Wood Wailers as being among the more ruthless hunters and poachers in the Shroud. While he's all but broken ties with them, Lhei'li still holds the same ruthlessness as his fellow Borhsaus, almost on par with his mother (AKA the matriarch). Have a bone to pick with the Borhsaus? Come at him. ■ "Haven't I seen you somewhere a little more… underground?" Lhei'li is something of a regular in the black market, picking up illegal substances and herbs for reasons yet unknown. A couple of merchants know him by name which attests to his regularity, so if your character is also a regular there, maybe they've seen him once or twice? ■ "So I heard you like Allagans." Lhei'li's main focus of study is the aetherial manipulation used in ancient civilizations (See: Hook 1). If your character is something of an Allagan or Nymian (or Mhach to a lesser degree) aficionado and happens to be talking about them within earshot of Lhei'li, you better be sure he'll jump in. ■ "S'a nice gun you got there, pardner."
