Character Information "Action comes about if and only if we find a discrepancy between what we are experiencing and what we want to experience." The theme and overarching idea I would like to RP with Orrin is a mixture of a Sage archetype along side a pursuit of power. The character inherently has no troubled upbringing to impart flaws and instead has grand designs to do good things without really understanding some of the far reaching consequences of his actions. Of course this will take time to build up to, and require a group of people to play it out with, but in the end I aim to create long term RP and have the character serve to support plots in unique ways. File:Profile Placeholder ❝ Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. ❞ Appearance Initial Impression Standing at a tall seven fulms and two ilms the Raen carries all the natural intimidation associated with oen of his race. Males tend to sport an uninviting demeanor between the sharp presentation of their horns and the natural crest of their brow, but this would be a deceptive first way to take Orrin as the man is anything but a typical Au Ra. Broad shoulders into a slimmer figure as natural for his race complete with off-white scales and a strong tail complete Orrin's look, though his dusky skin is mildly atypical. Given his dedication to a life of scholarly pursuits, it has been a difficult task for Orrin to balance his physical health with his mental pursuits, but swimming and occasional (if forced) lessons in sword play have developed enough of a discipline in the Raen to keep at least a toned physique, if not outright muscular. Presentation & Attire Over time Orrin has developed a preference for clothing that is both flattering and functional. A difficult thing for the man to reconcile given his background is that he never wanted for clothing, or much of anything, and though he had no intention of he has developed expensive tastes when it comes to garb. Not only for the materials in the make, but also for the utility. Crystal woven pants and aetherically conductive metals do not spring cheaply from the ground, let alone the work necessary to making them both useful and fashionable. This does limit Orrin's overall wardrobe but what he lacks in variety he makes up for in pizzazz. At least, that's what he'd tell you. Personality Mentality Born from a life without want and inspired by stories from home and around Eorzea, Orrin lived the life of a spoiled only child and grew into something of a pretentious and entitled little shit. However as war loomed on the horizon and Garlemald's impending invasion cast a palor over the City-States Orrin's ideal life soon came crashing down, and surviving the Calamity with his parents left him a deeply changed man. The repercussions that affected everyone around him in a time when he had so much was a catalyst that enacted a profound change in the man, and while his parents have returned home to Doma to escape the troubled lands of Eorzea, Orrin remains and grows still. Ever insatiable for knowledge, with a desire to do good for better or worse, the Raen takes what opportunity he can to lend assistance. Even if it is sometimes unnecessary. Voice Speaking with a smooth and articulate baritone, Orrin embodies a learned Scholar through and through. His words, his voice, his demeanor speaks of confidence and knowledge around most, but he'd be the first to tell you that he knows nothing compared to the vast sea of information that he sails in.

Combat, Abilities & Weaponry Martial Weapons Staves Blade Book Slaps Aetheric Abilities Aetheric Amplification Desynthesizing Enchantment and Imbuement Non-Combat Alchemy Early in his life Orrin took an interest in all things arcane and nearly related to. Alchemy was an easy secondary hobby for the boy to practice outside the safety of the Arcanists Guild and Ossuary studies, and what started as a hobby eventually became a point of pride for the Raen. One of the few talents he refined and developed, it has become one of Orrin's main forms of income as the man travels and produces unique tinctures and healing tonics to help feed the ever incessant demand generated by adventurers and refugees alike. Cooking Playing off his experience as an alchemist and love of delicious food, Orrin is a surprisingly good cook. Not that this fact comes to light often but in a pinch and with the right ingredients he has been known to produce stellar meals for a group when the circumstances present themselves. Despite his skill, he doesn't make mention of it and downplays his capability. 'Mediocre at best.' is a common phrase from the man's mouth. RP Info Location & Probability Places where the character is very likely to be seen ■ Ul'dah/Limsa: The main places for a good mercenary to pick up work. Malchior frequents between both city-states. ■ Rest of Eorzea: Gridania and Ishgard are less inclined for a man of his persuasive talents, but that doesn't mean he avoids them completely. ■ Across the Pond: Not bound to just Eorzea, the man has made trips far and wide in his time. He's no stranger to Kugane, though beyond that is questionable. Affiliations Most of these aren’t public, and would have to be asked after! ■ Pirate Crews: The Highlander found his sea legs a while back and has worked for the few crews that are open to extra hands on a 'trip'. ■ Gladiator Pit: Not above fighting for extra coin, Malchior has graced Ul'dah's spectacle more than a few times. Not quite made a name for himself, however. Roleplay Hooks While the below is by no means comprehensive, it's a kind of spring board for walk-up RP. I'm always looking for RP, unless I'm actively spamming PvE content. ■ Seeking Work: Malchior has a reputation for picking up most any jobs. Guarding a caravan, long term sea shipments, cleaning out a cave of untowardly Spriggans, you name it and pay for it, he'll do it. ■ Alchemy: What started off as a casual dabbling for an extra edge in a fight with poisons became a full blown hobby that he enjoys when he can. Though he doesn't operate as a full apothecary, he is not shy about selling what he has made. ■ Pit Fighting: If you're a frequent fighter, or attendee, you may recognized his scarred face and steely teal eyes.

OOC Notes Player Note There is a lot of information on this character wiki, but it is by no means completely comprehensive. What Sort of Roleplayer I am What I am looking for on an OOC level is long term and impactful Roleplay. Stories are not built over night and rapports are developed over time, and I'm keen on slowly building these foundations for greater stories with people interested in the same. I want to write stories with others that elicit a response, an emotional acknowledgement. That's why I enjoy roleplaying. If you're looking for heavy immersion, sincerity, and realism then you've found the right sort of roleplayer.
