Eric found Ki when she was nothing more than an orphan living in the outskirts of Ul'dah. Taking pity on her, he brought her into his home and raised her like a daughter. After a few years, he seemed to develop more intimate feelings and took her as a young lover. What followed was a time of darkness for Ki and she still struggles to find her way out of. Eric eventually moved to Ishgard, leaving Ki behind as he sought to marry into a noble family. Still young, Ki struggles with her feelings towards the man, mainly experiencing hate and fear but also yearning for the Erik who had looked after her.
