Taking pity on her, he brought her into his home and raised her like a daughter. After a few years, he seemed to develop more intimate feelings and took her as a young lover. What followed was a time of darkness for Ki and she still struggles to find her way out of. Victoir eventually moved to Ishgard, leaving Ki behind as he sought to marry into a noble family. Still young, Ki struggles with her feelings towards the man, mainly experiencing hate and fear but also yearning for the Victoir who had looked after her.
