Lawful Neutral Good ■ LEITMOTIF... ♫ PERSONALITY / APPEARANCE A resume written by her parents would boast to her benefit that she's a hard worker, a fast learner and a person of little interest in frivolities, but conflict over the accuracy of these statements brews deep in her, and anyone with a sharp sense could tell. To most strangers she is curt, avoiding most chatter and cutting straight to the point. She has a bad habit of looking down when speaking to others, especially if they are taller than herself, and her hands will busy themselves fiddling with all manner of pens, papers or her own clothes when she's under any amount of stress ... which is often. Her voice is high pitched and airy, usually compared to a flute or a bird, but out of hatred for it, she does not prattle. To those she opens up to, there's little change in her behavior. Although she might share some small slices of her interests, it's difficult for her to accept kindness and care, much less any sort of intimacy -- even something as minuscule as hands held or familiar hugs. She tries her best to offer her worth in diligence, carrying out tasks for friends and good acquaintances to an almost subservient level of devotion. She's weary on showing any other form of appreciation. Dreadfully small and thin, her form lacks curve in just about every area, leaving her looking rather dull if not for the long rusty curls of hair set about her back and shoulders. She rarely wears a level of makeup beyond "lightly dusted", choosing to powder her cheeks and gloss her lips only on a good day -- or for a business meeting. The ears set upon her head are wider, never having grown tall from their kitten-esque shape much like her dwarfed tail that reaches to her knees at best. Her skin is pale, almost sickly so, and her antique pink eyes sometimes have dark circles underneath them from hours spent overworking herself. Her choice of clothing is as expected for one of Ishgard -- modest, and borderline decorative. It's because of the generosity of her parents that she was able to afford anything that didn't look like a bar wench's rags, but as with most of her effort, her fancier outfits are generally saved for business meetings. She's often seen wearing ankle-length skirts and blouses, though as of late she's taken to exposing her shoulders... just a little bit, though this has also made her more on edge in the public eye. visual references LIKES ■ Praise A little appreciation goes a long way. Having never been "good enough" in the past, she works her very hardest to impress others so that she might be eventually praised for her efforts. ■ Baking Although she's had very little practice of her own, she enjoys baking, but more specifically observing and taste testing for those who do. ■ Literature/Writing Far off in her desires was the dream of becoming a novelist, but such frivolities are ill afforded. Instead, she buries her nose in the novels of others, sheepishly jotting down notes and blurbs in her free time. ■ Duties Being idle makes her extremely antsy, so even if they're the most menial of demands, she will generally fulfill them, especially if it means making someone happy -- this is where her lawful nature may blur into neutrality. DISLIKES ■ Crowds Too many people, too much noise. Although Ul'dah is fraught with people, she manages day to day, but not without a moderate level of anxiety clinging to her. ■ Exposure Having her deepest desires laid bare, having her failures aired out -- these fears are the primary motivators of her prim behavior. ■ Tribals A fear instilled in her purely by her parents. She's afraid of conflict and violence, and those who embrace it, and it has been especially drilled into her that "savage" Miqo'te cannot be trusted -- though kindness and praise easily fools her opinion elsewise. ■ Ishgard After the resolve of the Dragonsong War, her love for her home has become a distant whisper. Although she misses many aspects, the idea of revisiting leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. QUIRKS ■ Fidgeting She fidgets a lot, and the more stress she is under, the more she fidgets. Because of this, she has a terrible habit of picking, and will even pluck her own hair or pick wounds into her skin when under immense stress. ■ Visual When it comes to socializing, she relies far more heavily on the visual cues she gives to guide her way. She has an extremely difficult time voicing herself in the face of adversity, so she banks on the empathy of others to read the way her body reacts against her will. ■ Clutter She lives in a great amount of clutter, but to her, everything is exactly where it needs to be. OOC INFO Delphine Iseterre • 21↑ • Balmung I am a casual roleplayer in Eastern Standard Time and I occasionally pop into public RP areas/events for fun. I'm open to longer term RPs, but am mostly unavailable during night hours (8PM - 3AM). As always, IN CHARACTER is not OUT OF CHARACTER. Delphine may avoid your character on the principle that she's scared of literally everything, but please don't take it to heart -- I don't share my character's fears and biases. Here are some of my links: tumblr • twitter RP LIMITS Seeing as how I'm old as hell, I prefer my RP partners to be 18+. Even if my character has no intention of engaging in risque situations, I can't speak to the interests of my partners, so I'd rather avoid that mess entirely. ■ DO - Anything from light-hearted, casual to more mature and dark themes welcome. Temporary incapacitation and injury, of varying degrees, is ok. Friendships, conflict and tension are ok. ■ ASK - Drastic character changing situations (marring, long term imprisonment, etc). Any extremely dark, violent, gorey or sexual themes are to remain implied, as I have no interest in writing them in great detail. ■ DON'T - Maiming that will cause permanent debilitation and permanent character death. ERP or sexual headcanons is also a no-go. RP HOOKS ■ She's always in and around Ul'dah by means of business or leisure. She's an intern at one of many small news publishing companies and often observes the goings-on of the area for reports. ■ Hailing from Ishgard, your character may have met her in passing, or was perhaps one of her bullies. She was not well liked in the Scholasticate, and did not make many friends -- none that were long lasting, anyway. ■ She visits any and all libraries as often as she can -- if your character is a librarian or an author they may have seen her pass through, or may have written one of the books she's read.
